So i went to my 2nd nutrition appt today, and gained 4 lbs! Granted it is during the final weeks of classes and finals are coming and I am a stress eater. I have been very stressed! But I have been eating healthier than ever and exercising much more than ever too. I have to admit I am having trouble keeping to te 350 cal meal/150 cal snack regimine. If I could do that easily I wouldn't need the band in the first place. When I do follow it stictly, i am starving and preoccupied about when I get to eat next. AUUUGGGHHHHH!!!

Hi there,

Are you banded? I'm banded and sometimes its hard to me to stick to calories, so if you're not banded, then I can see how hard calorie counting would be! Anyway, if you are still working out and feeling good (high energy, clothes getting loose, more upbeat, etc), then remember that your weight is just one number in the many many things that make up who you are. Keep your chin up and remember that muscle retains more Water than fat and is denser, so you may be gaining in a good way.

no i am not banded yet, not for another 2 months. I am feeling pretty lousy about myself because of this, i really wonder if i can do it because i am sooooo hungry! Thanks for the reply, i makes me feel better to ven to people who have been there and understand. My 100lb soaking wet nutrionist has really no idea what it is like. By the way, i love love love Denver and want to move there someday!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
