surgery on the 30th!!

Recommended Posts

i just met with my surgeon on wednesday, and next wednesday is surgery. so soon!

i was told to go on a pre-op diet for two weeks, and i messed up big time. i went in panic mode or something and started eating all the things i would never be able to eat again, at least not a full meal of it. yeah, i failed already, but i'm not discouraged just yet.

i know i can stick to "the rules" when i'm banded, even when i already messed up.

anyway, i'm excited for next week!

My surgery is also scheduled for April 30th. I've been on the pre-op diet for almost two weeks and although it's been tough at times I have been able to stick with it, I think my only saving grace was that I was allowed to have one sensible meal.

Good Luck!:rolleyes2:

aw, you're my surgery twin. hehe.

i'm actually allowed to have two meals a day. i don't know why i couldn't even stick with that. i've been doing like one healthy meal, or one Protein shake, and then burger and fries from mcdonalds. it was totally bad, but i've been doing better now that it's closer to surgery. i know it's to benefit me and make surgery go smoother.

Two more days!!! How are you two doing? I go in waves of nerves but still very excited. I'm in Detroit and live about 1 mile from the hospital so fortunately I don't have far to go.

I have been kind of nervous all weekend. I am ready to get it done so I can stop worrying about it already. My pre-op diet has been great. I had to do Atkins so thats been pretty simple. I am so glad that I didn't have to do the liquid diet. I fly to Denver tomorrow @ noon. And I'll fly back on Thursday afternoon. So I am a little nervous about going without my husband but he has to stay with the kids. After reading this site for 2 months a lot of people say it's not that bad. So I am really hoping I am one of those people. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Good luck to all of us. I look forward to seeing how well everyone is doing.

Laura

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
