Stupidity Caused Worst PB Ever

Recommended Posts

My band has been so fickle lately that I popped a Dayquil capsule down my throat. Within 30 seconds it was the worst PB yet. I never drank during a PB but started sipping Gatorade to help it, but that made it much worse. I was at the convenience store and had to run to the bathroom & scared the hell out of the staff. More slime than ever, worst pain yet. The pill never came up, but the slime was creepy red from the Gatorade & looked like blood which really freaked me out. But then I had one last lump of clear slime come up. I'm going to try my hardest to stick with mushies for three full days. I swear, it feels like I did damage this time.

My sinuses are so bad that I squished the juice out of the second caplet. No more messing around for me, I've learned too many lessons now. No matter how loose we think we are, the band remains a very fickle tool that demands full-time respect.

Awww I am sorry for the Dayquil episode. I tried one of them dar pills one time and it finally passed through after a horrible sliming episode. Those pills hurt.

Glad you are doing better. I know exactly how you feel. My worst PB was not with a pill though. It was with a piece of pretzel....the big doughy kind. Evidently the piece was too big and it took over 24 hours before I felt better. I thought I was going to die. I thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room to have the pretzel removed. How embarassing would that be. I will never eat another pretzel again.

At least with my blood pressure pills, they can be cut in half. Can't do that with capsules or liquigel capsules.

I hope you are feeling better now!!

Oh my!!! Girl, are you better now?

Ive had a couple of pb episodes that could compare... you are right, you feel like dying!

Was at Walmart a week ago and felt the pb urge. Having 2 kids with me, I couldnt make it to the bathroom, so I started looking for a trash can. Ah-ha! Pet department was right around the corner - with a nice BIG stinky (from dead fish) trash can.

You are having sinus trouble? Thats probably where this restriction is coming from!

i too have horrible sinus troubles..i am not banded yet but i have researched this for fear of the dreaded pb...they have liquid day/nite stuff..its not as cheap as the pills..but ya do what ya need to do. i am also on XRBiaxin(sp?) for my chronic sinus infections.. they are horse pills and not breakable..you can always talk to your doc about some kinda meds for your sinuses. good luck!

LMAO @ "projectile" burping.....

It is called "productive" burping. If you do a search for PB you will find the answer explained many times in numerous threads.

Thanks Tammy, you have me giggling so hard! I needed that!

cant you just crush up the tablets and take them with honey or something like that...? to disguise the bitter taste if nothing else ....that should work

I had a terrible sinus cold/infection a month ago, and used alka selzer plus cold. For work I used the non-drowsy which helps but isn't quite as good as the regular knock me out sinus formula. I hate the taste, so I use a 5 oz dixie cup half full so I can get it down in a shot. I let it sit for a bit past the dissolving stage to get the carbonation out. I didn't have any trouble with it, and it works good.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
