Where is everyone from???

Recommended Posts

Hi tiger--

My surgeon is Dr. Rehnke in St. Pete. He also works through JourneyLite, but I signed on directly with his practice (in order to spend a night in the hospital--same $$--I am self-pay). I am down from 217 to 180 and will go in for Fill #2 tomorrow. I was doing so well and the last couple of weeks--plateau'ed and eating more. I am still making good choices, but I am having More than I want to want! I want to get to 6 bites and I am done. I am recommiting myself to Phase 2 and anxious to get that scale moving. Anyone that thinks the Lap Band is the easy way out--is WRONG! You HAVE to "work it" not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.

Oops, this is supposed to be a "where are you from" thread, but my fingers took control and typed too much....not my fault. ;-)

Hey jb and everyone ,,

I too am having a hard time at this point. I got my first fill last week and feel I can eat more after the fill than before.

I am hoping the second fill (which I am going to schedule today for as soon as I can get it ) will help..

Lived in St Pete for over 20 years.

Wow, I love to see all the places people are from. I am originally from NYC, bronx bomber. Currently at Elmendorf AFB, (Anchorage) Alaska. Have been to most of where you all live, Sumter, SC-Texas-Arizona- the list goes on; but I think our favorit place, because it is so close to home, is Bedford, Massachusetts (Hanscom AFB) and we are dying to get back there.

Hello woodbox20,Its nice to know you're also from the DA BRONX I was

born and rised Manhattan. I lived in Tremont & Bruckner blvd. Until two

years ago, now we live in spring hill florida. Love the weather & the place, But there's no place like home!!. Bug57

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
