Why does it take so long for Dr's Offices to release your freekin records...

Recommended Posts

 I am so pissed off... My case hasen't even went to my insurance company I have records from 2002 to current..I just had to tell them that I have records from 2006 I don't need theirs... Why is it like pulling teeth to get your stuff? My major issue with them is that a release of information form was faxed over like 2-3 weeks ago and when I called to see why it was taking so long for it to be sent over they were like. Sorry we can't use their release of information form, it has to be on ours.:cursing::w00t: Ok when were you people going to let someone know? I'm off of my soap box for now... This really diggs in my skin because I am so ready to get this process started....

I had to fight and fight and call and call for my records. It seemes like it took forever. Now I'm 15 days post-op and it all seems like a fast blur.

I would love to see that blur...lol.. I am eating less and everything I haven't worked out in like 2-weeks thinking that uhhh I will have an approval and have the procedure done then i can hit it really hard... Don't ask why I stopped working out... I guess thinking that if I loose too much they would prob. say that I didn't need it, but I'm going to continue with my workouts like i was doing prior and I'm sure I will be just that much further along....

I worked in a Dr's office and I can tell you that in our office, medical records weren't a priority because so many other things were and that always got pushed back.

My suggestion: Call them and tell them what copies you need, get the person's name you are talking to and then tell them when you'll be in to get them. give them at least two to three days for the date you'll pick them up. Tell them you'll sign any release paper they need when you get there. When you show up, ask for the person you spoke to on the phone, ( ask in advance if they work on the day you're coming) if the copies are not ready, tell them you gave them advance notice, they knew you'd be coming and that you'll wait for her to copy them. Then bring them or fax them to the surgeon and keep a copy for yourself, just in case!

You know that's what i may have to do. I understand that a lot of times faxes sometimes get pushed to the side, but my concern is ME... I am such a nice person and I follow up like I should to make sure that everything is being taken care of and when they are like uhhh The Dr. has to sign off on them and to make sure that everything is ok before we fax them over i'm like wtf does he have to look at them for He should have done everything he had to do at the end of the appointment 2-dam years ago... Seeing that it is in Downtown Chicago I have to pay for parking $16 bucks for what 20-minutes... ouch or walk 2-years to the building.... uhhhhh gotta do wht i gotta do i guess...and stop whinning...Thanks

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
