Two fills in Two days?

Recommended Posts

I just posted a part of this on another thread for a different subject, but I'm curious what you guys think:

I got a fill yesterday and it wasn't crap. .6 cc... NO DIFFERENCE.

The first fill I had was wonderful and I actually had my sweet spot right away. They put a full cc in there that time. Even though it wore off in a week, it was great. So, I was expecting something like that this time and no. I knew right away it wasn't even close.

I came to work and drank my Soup.. ate it all no problem (last time I could only drink half). Then I was still starving after the soup.. intense starving pains...

Today I ate an entire can of tuna for Breakfast, no problem... for lunch had a large chili.. no problem.. still hungry.. before there is no way I could have eaten all of this after a fill.. It actually seems as if she took some of the fill out! and never put any back in.

So, I have a 3pm appointment today and I'm going to beg my doctor to just give me a little bit more. I doubt he will, but if I have to cry I will. God, sometimes I feel like I'm a crack whore addicted to drugs or something! and my drug is this band.

I wouldn't be so upset if I didn't have to wait over 4 weeks for my next fill, but apparently somebody quit the fill center so they have a long wait right now :-( I'm going on a cruise in two weeks and I don't want to go hungry, as the food is so good and I know I'll want it!!

Do you think I have a chance in hell that he will give me a little topper??

I don't know....My first 2 fills were over a full CC each - but we could go back every 2wks for additional fills. I've read a bunch that fills can take up to 2wks to "kick" in. That has never been my experience. They either restricted me or not ... So the happy lapband journey of 5 months of getting fills took 7 before I got true restriction.

It's a PITA & willpower / diet had to occupy me in the meantime. Cry a river...see if it works:tongue:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
