Whoo Who after 18 months, 2 insurance companies, and a loss of 70lbs on WW, the doctor's office just called and asked me to pick a date 4/14 4/21 or 4/28. !! I nearly fainted. I picked 4/28 cause I need time to get things ready at home. Then I asked about the pre op diet that they drilled into me 9mths and they where like no big deal about it. which has left me a little confused. I guess I should call back the office and ask for more details but they said I could use opti-fast. Help... Oh yeah how do you add those cool tickers to your sign on ..... am i just babbling ??? sorry I am kinda of exicted and scared at the same time I mean its just 3 weeks a way. :biggrin2:

Congratulations , I very excited for you. I was banded on April 1st and my process was a lot easier than some I have read about on the forum. I visited a True Results Center in Atlanta on February 6, 2008 for a Free Diagnostic. After my Psych Eval, Nutrition Consultation, and blood work my package was sent to the Insurance Company BCBS of Georgia. I was approved on March 15, 2008 and my surgery was scheduled for April 1st. Every thing really seemed to go very fast so enjoy this pre-surgery time. Because the post op diet of liquids only is no fun!!!!

Congratulations!! Wow, 70 lbs down from WW already -- what a great start, and now, with the band, you likely won't rebound from that loss.

There's a sticky thread somewhere about how to do the tickers... maybe do a Search on ticker.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
