So here's an updated picture of me with my husband and our youngest child. It's the first picture of me in a very long time that I have really liked. :scared2:

Why haven't I replied to this yet? Shame on me!

Shiny you're looking great! Where'd your tummy go? Who knows, but at least you'll never find it again!

Tonight I was doing laundry and picked up my new red shirt that I'm wearing in the above picture. I thought it looked so small to me. I laid it out on one of my favorite shirts from my heaviest days. I had to take a picture. (The red shirt may have shrunk up a little in the wash, but I put it on and it still fits, so this is legit.)

Bet that put a huge smile on your face. I know it put one on mine. Another NSV, congrats!

Wow! Your success couldn't have happened to a nicer person! What a lovely, "shiny happy" family you have! And the shirt picture is astounding! I'm definitely going to do that someday!

Thanks. You guys are sweet.

I realized later that the pink shirt is actually what I wore to my first appointment with my surgeon. I'll have to send him that picture too.

That's an incredible picture, shiny! I had considered why I didn't at least keep one pair of my biggest pants and one of my biggest shirts. Just to remind myself where I come from and where I NEVER want to be again. That picture shows the difference!

I might even go out and buy some pants and a shirt at my largest. Should I? Maybe from Goodwill or something...

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
