Should I get an unfill? What do you think?

Recommended Posts

I have been extremely restricted and really not eating very much. My pcp and I are trying different depression meds and such for my depression and anxiety, also I have had to switch up birth control meds for various reasons and had been on my period for almost a month straight. Last night I had a really bad night, I took my zoloft and birth control then went to bed. Bad mistake, I got up about 10mins later with bad acid reflux and threw up slim. Usually I can take a zantac and be ok but I couldn't keep the zantac down. Now I am really contemplating an unfil to let me stomach rest, but I probably can't get one for at least a week since my fill doctor commutes to my area. I have already made 2 trips for emergency unfills to my docs area witch is 200+ miles away and I don't want to do it again. I really am afraid of getting a complete unfill but I am starting to think that it might be the best option right now. Do ya'll think I should unfill until my pcp and I can get meds that work for me? Or should I just get an unfill for a few weeks to let my body rest? Or...what? I just don't know anymore.

What does your PCP think you should? I would follow his advice. Non of us know your body like he does (not to mention that he's the one with the MD after his name.) We will be here to support your decision.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
