Hey Guys.. in Chicago and trying....

To decide if I want to be banded... I've tried almost e'thing under the sun... haven't been able to lose steadily.. the main thing is hormonal imbalance and insulin resistance due to severe PCOS....I stayed up all last night researching and reading posts on this site.. Thank you guys for your openness and honesty.. I'm going to talk to my best friend tonight about what I want to do.. The hard part will be discussing this with my fam.. My cousin died from complications of a gastric bypass in Dec 2003 at 28 and another cousin died from heart related issues after a long stint on diet drugs in Dec. 07 at 32.. so.. this is real sore spot..and they don't think I have an issue with my weight (:rolleyes:yeah right!!) but I need to do something.. at the moment i don't have many health issues.. no HBP or Diabetes.. but lately I've had problems with circulation in my legs.. and it has me a little frightened.. I have a drs. appt in 2 days and I'm going to discuss this with her.. any insight, encouragement and/or advice would be greatly appreciated...

I am so sorry to hear of your cousins' deaths! That is so horrible! I can imagine how your family just might have an issue with this surgery!! We can only point out the obvious...that this surgery is much less invasive than gastric bypass and is totally reversible.

Have you ever done research into low-carb dieting to help with PCOS? There are very good results with it...amazing ones, actually.
