Hi I'm another April 8th. There are at least 5 others on the forum that are scheduled for that day. I have been on restricted liquid (low Protein, low calorie) diet since last Wednesday. I just keep drinking away on my sugar free liquids. Good luck to you.

First, I have to tell you I am on day 7 as well. THIS SUCKS!! I know the outcome is worth it though. WILL POWER!!! Honey if you want this bad enough, you wont buckle to that desire to eat the wrong food. Plus the moment you cheat, it makes you sick. Take a fools advice! I had to have a few chips, boy was that a mistake. SICK SICK SICK!!! Just know that your doing this for you and this is only temporary!!!! You have made a commitment to yourself, and dang it your not gonna let anything stand in your way. Believe me, I have this talk with myself everyday for the last 7 days as I drink my carnation instant Breakfast. Mmmm <gag>. Fight the temptation, and hang in there!!

Banding date 4/10/2008

i think all of us had this feeling on the pre-op. you are not alone at all. until you get the band and your first fill it's no different than the rest of your life which for me, has been a huge struggle. now that i've been filled, i'm full full full with just a few bites. it's pure bliss!

Hello Everyone!

I am new to this and my first post on here..My surgry is April 14 and today is my first day of my liquid diet. OMG I didn't know it was going to be this hard but I am making it. HEHEHE..The only things I can eat ( which I should say Drink) is Slim fast, (3 cans a day) chicken or beef broth, SF popcicles and SF Jello. I was wondering if Carnation instant Breakfast was ok to add to that list?? It has 2x the Protein and Calcium but was never told that I can have it thye just said anything liquid. So I don't know what would hurt, but Please if anyone can tell me it's ok.

I hope to hear from people on here...

Kristy

Wow to all you guys! I'm going to Mexico for my banding 5/7/08 and am reading up like mad how you all do it. i keep thinking about the new size small me in the future and then I think of pizza, lazagnia, ice cream etc. This is huge but maybe it gets easier once we get on the weight loss track and feel better/more energetic later...hopefully thoughts of food will diminish then.

Luckily, I only had to lose 7 pounds before my doc would submit to insurance. I managed to lose it (took 4 weeks!), but now that surgery is the 14th, I have seemed to gain a few back. I plan on going on a liquid diet starting on Monday (something he doesn't insist upon) on my own and hopefully lose those couple of pounds! I feel so guilty, but maybe it's because I know that it's going to be a while, or forever, that I will be able to eat certain foods again. Good luck to everyone!!!

I haven't been but on any pre-diet by my Dr. or anything I am just starting it myself so it wont be so hard when i am told... and I have been doing this since Thursday of last week and I must say your emotions with go every way but up.... lol... no joke.. when your body is use to eating a certin way.. and you don't give it what it needs.. you literaly go thru withdrawls...like a drug addict.... no kidding.. i have never been addicted to any drugs ever... now on the other hand carbs & sugar.. might as well be label'd as drugs because when u don't have it your body craves it.. but today being Monday was a little better.. Not to say that my temper is kind of short with people at work, but i feel its geting better.... def. not a easy thing to do...

u are so right about withdrawal, ans food has been a drug for me. Please let me know how things are going for you

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
