People at goal

Recommended Posts

Hi was banded in June at reached goal in January. 200 to 150. So about 50 pounds in 6 months.

Since January I've lost another 11 pounds, so 11 pounds in 3 months. But I'm on maintenance and have to keep my calories up or I'll keep losing.

Banded December 05, truly cant remember when I reached goal - which was 75 kg - it was about June 07 I think. That was a first goal only, I knew I wouldnt be happy to stop there as I'd weighed that much for long periods of time before and still felt a bit fat. Since then I've dwindled down to about 70 to 71kg over the past eight or nine months and I think its probably still going VERY slowly. I'd love to get under 70kg although I have no real need to, just because I could never ever manage it before, it would be at triumph of sorts.

But what I'm really doing now is not trying to lose weight - I have 26% body fat which I'd like to trim a little - so I've taken up some more serious strength training as well as running now.

Oh, I've lost about 90lb now all up. I was a slower loser because I dont believe in dieting and I really dont believe in low carbing.

I didn't "Diet" didn't starve, but I did exercise daily, and rather than relying on super restriction, I ate healthy, whole foods as often as I could. I lost the 190lbs in about 16 months.

I still do so, and have maintained without effort for close to two years now.

hi,

I have been banded for 7.5 years, i started at 115kgs or 253.5lb and lost 45kgs/ 99.2lb in a year and a half, i had to lose it slower because i was only 15yrs so the dietitan planned for me to lose it slower :-) I have kept it off for 6yrs easily.

I exercise daily and eat sensibly but now that im maintaining i get my treats when i want them, i just exercise a bit more to compensate. You learn to balance it after a while

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
