The band won't do it's job until you're filled and have restriction. Until then, it's on you.

Don't freak over weight gain. Gaining weight doesn't mean you're gaining fat. I gained 6 lbs since lastnight, and ate maybe 800 calories yesterday, but drink over a gallon of fluids. Of course I'm going to weigh more until those fluids work themselves out.

I was banded on 2/28, lost 27 lbs by 3/10, then between 3/10 and 3/19, I gained 8 lbs. I could tell it was Fluid though, because my hands were swollen. Plus, I was transitioning to soft foods, and I've heard that eating more solids can cause you to gain a few pounds. I saw my surgeon on 3/19 for an incision issue and he said that he wasn't concerned as long as I wasn't eating around the band (ice cream, milkshakes, etc) which I definitely am not doing. He said he doesn't really look at the weight loss until after the first fill, which I had today.

I think a lot of people gain when they switch from liquids to mushies -- all of a sudden you've got solid food in your body again, and start pooping... yeah, TMI.

I am curious how my weight loss will go then because my doctor only does one day of liquids then it's straight to mushies.:confused2:

Don't stress out, you are doing fine~ Remember, everyone loses differently. I lost 12 pounds in the week after surgery, then didn't lose anything for at least a month. Then I gained 3 pounds. The way my doctor explained it to me was this: You need to look at your total weigt loss a year out from surgery. Hopefully it will be 50-60 pounds. When you look back over your life it isn't going to matter if you lost ten pounds each month or if a few months you lost none and a few you lost 15 or whatever. The end result will be weight loss. There are a ton of variables and nobody knows exactly what makes some people lose real steadily and some lose sporadically.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
