Fill Doctors in Omaha, NE

Recommended Posts

Hello to everyone in Omaha, I was born and raised just across the river in Council Bluffs and I will be having plastic surgery in Omaha in June. I was banded in September 06 and I am down 85 lbs. I am trying to get everything lined up and I am needing to find a fill doctor in Omaha that could give me an unfill should it become necessary after my surgery. I was banded in Mexico and know that a lot of doctors won't touch Mexican patients, and my fill doctor where I am living now (Louisiana) doesn't think I will need an unfill but I need have a doctor's name just in case. Any names or numbers would be greatly appreciated.

This was also posted in the General Lapband Surgery site but it has some how disappeared and is also posted in Lapband Fills site because I know from my own experience that not everyone goes into all the different sites on Lab-Band Talk.

Cheryl,

Have not had the surgery yet (June 3, 2008) but I did look on a website for patients banded in Mexico. (I was banded in Monterrey, Mexico) I did find one doctor on their site, Dr. Stephen Malley,5820 Lamar Suite 200, Mission, KS 66204 (913)492-2530 $250/initial consultation $100/fills thereafter. I don't know how current this information is but you should give him a call. There were also 2 doctors listed in Topeka, KS. Not sure how closer/further this is than Omaha. I only had one reply from anyone in Omaha. I still need to call the number I was given to see if they would consider doing an unfill if necessary. If you want the names of the doctors in Topeak let me know and I will forward on the names and numbers.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
