Nausea anyone???

Recommended Posts

Is anyone else experiencing nausea with their lap band? It started a couple of weeks ago and at first I thought it was some weak stomach bug since I wasn't always sick but it is still happening. I have thrown up a couple of times but usually I just feel icky for 2-4 hours.

I still haven't gotten full restriction so I don't know what it feels like but I have heard that sometimes people get sick when something gets stuck. I have gotten something stuck a couple of times but deep breathing helped it pass and I haven't ever thrown up from it.

Could my nausea be from the lap band?

Sorry, I've not ever been nauseated since being banded.

Maybe others will chime in.

Hope you get better as I know that's a yucky feeling.

Whenever someone mentions spells of nausea without other explanation I first wonder if it's pregnancy. Any chance of that?

I get nauseous in the evening if I don't have a good Protein lunch. Then I force myself to get some protein based food down and it goes away. But its an ugly feeling to get, especially when I am on the subway.....

I have really good restriction now...perhaps a tad too tight. But if I have eaten something (small amount) or take my pills and then drink Water (a large gulp), I almost invariably become quickly nauseated; you know where your mouth begins to salivate and you know it's pending. Then I may feel nauseated for several hours after...a mild nausea but there just the same. I don't know what it's about except I know I shouldn't drink fast, especially with eating...big bandster no no.

I thought the same thing! But the test was negative and I don't "fee" prego like I did when I really was so no I am not pregnant:)

Thanks!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
