Whey Protein and what to do with it...

Recommended Posts

I bought some whey Protein at the advice of my fill specialist, but I'm sort of at a loss for what to do with it. I bought unflavored and a berry flavor. I saw a nice recipe for Mac and cheese that I'm going to try. I tried mixing the unflavored with my yogurts, but umm... ick.... unflavored...not so much.:(

But what else can i do with it? Any one have any other uses for it?

whey Protein is good in drinks and smoothies...like after the gym I'll get some crushed berries, juice, whey Protein, Water or milk, and blend that sucker up. You need to get protein in your body during weight loss!

You can also just mix it with milk and it's a protein shake/smoothie...

I was banded in Feb 2006 and LOVE the new life that shedding 80lbs has brought for me. However, I am sometimes still frustrated with the challanges we face with making sure we get enough nutrients for our body, hair, skin...etc.. I get tired of chewing my Vitamins and picking up pieces of my hair off the bathroom floor when I rebel and don't take my Vitamins. A year ago, I joined my husband in his business which involves selling Noni juice. I love the product and within the company, they have other product lines that have spun off that use Noni as the underlying basis. I often drink my Breakfast (slimfast shake, Atkins or some other Protein based shake) but I usually by them in the can because I was told by my dr that we were not to have powder. After reading several excerpts here in the forum, it looks like several people are drinking powder forms of Protein. So, is it ok to mix drinks up or not? Or, are they referring to massive quantities of powder ingestion? I suppose I should ask my dr's office to clarify, right? Sorry, I'm so long...this is my first time writing the forum...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
