I have been getting "heat rash" (don't know what else to call it) between my upper, inner thighs and now loose, sagging skin from abdomen. I have treid powder to keep it drier and gauze to keep areas seperated but the rash is getting worse and more painful. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Not only would you want to get it checked by the doctor, but that kind of documentation would help you justify getting the loose kin removed and have insurance pay for it. Correct me if I am wrong, I don't think insurance will pay for Excess skin removal unless it is medically necessary. Having this documented in your records will help you.

I hope you get some immediate relief.

ask your Dr for a RX for Betamethasone cream. It works after just 1 application overnight. It is amazing stuff!

For a hanging pannus, try deodorant. A dry stick type such as Dove. Not only will it keep the sweat & stinkies away, but it's also a smooth barrier between the skin.

On the thighs, I'm not sure. I assume you get it when they rub together, e.g. wearing a skirt or dress? If powder doesn't do it maybe buy a small pair of thin cotton shorts to wear underneath.

Like Elkhunter said, documentation!! My insurance wont pay for skin removal unless it is medically justified (IE rashes, ulcers, etc) So get into the doctor ASAP!

For two reasons 1) so you get some relief from the icky rash 1) so you are one step ahead of the insurance company!!

This is a really, really old solution: My mother (1916-2004) used to wear a nylon thing between her thighs, like the crotch-only part of pants, fastened with elastic around waist and each thigh, I think. I have no idea whether these still exist. If so, they would provide protection from chafing and rash while you wait for an appointment with yr doctor. Of course you can also buy underwear that has thigh-length legs, but those legs might ride up. Maybe microfiber workout shorts, bicycle shorts? Keep us posted, please; if you have the problem, there are probably others who have it or will have it and need to hear the solution. Thanks!

I had something similar. It turned out to be a yeast rash. Only a precription from the doc works and lots of the cream. From my own experience, if it itches like mine you are very motivated to get this cleared up.

Yes, I think it sounds like a external yeast infection. I have suffered from them for the last several years. Especially through my pregnancies. When you see the Dr. ask for a "skin scrape" to be sure it is caused by yeast. They can then give you the appropriate medicine to make it go away. Otherwise, it it's yeast it will keep coming back.

Try some desitin diaper rash creme, I use it along my pantie line where the elastic lays and under my breast where my bra is. Or if you rather the dry way, just use corn starch. The desitin just works better for me because it puts a protective film on my rash and heals it at the same time.

If it's a yeast infection (and I agree that's what it sounds like, and I unfortunately have lots of experience with external yeast infections) cornstarch will make it worse. You can treat with over the counter Monistat cream if you can't get into the doctor right away. Good luck!

Believe me, I tried everything. We were out of town for two weeks. My doc had to keep from giggling at me when I told her everything I had tried. She does have a sense of humor. Anyway, by the second day I was doing MUCH better. Thank goodness for meds.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
