First fill.. 1cc..awesome

Recommended Posts

Well today was my first fill. I was scared at first but everything went ok. Had no problems at all. I only got 1cc but I felt it right away. Dr. said that I'll get a total of 4 cc and I should be good. He said that I should have no problem hitting my goal as long as stay focused on my food intake and increase my exercise to 30 minutes 3x a week. I was walking 15 minutes a day on the treadmill already I thought I was doing good since I didn't do anything at all before. Come to find out per Dr. that I would have to increase to the be able to make a difference. Ok he's the Dr. I'm excited the nurse said she could see the difference in my looks. She even pulled out the "before pics" from my folder and was pointing out my face , my tummy, my thigh, how she could tell where I've lost.. the before pics were taken 1 week before my surgery.

I'm so happy I've officially have dropped from a size 22 to a size 16 in a minimum of 2 months:thumbup:. YAY me!!

I want to be at a size 12 hopefully by June for my Disney vacation so till then I'll eat right and lots of exercising!:tea:

Hey Ruby..

I'm so glad I have a partner in crime with getting only 1cc for the first fill!! i was kind of disappointed because 1cc is sooo tiny. Since my fill on Tuesday, I noticed a little bit of restriction. Not too much, but enough to be full after a fairly small amount of food. My doc said he will probably look at doing 3cc's my next fill which is April 2nd. He also reiterated that I'm doing extremely well with my weight loss and gave me lots of encourgement...especially in the exercise department!! That always feels good. Congratulations on everything you have accomplished so far. I bet you will be in those size 12's BEFORE you Disney vaction!!

Right on, sister!!:)

Amy

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
