Hang in there guys....When I was at my heaviest I had confidents stringing off of me but I never really got asked out. I had given up, I told myself "no more looking", "I can deal with being single", I had even convinced myself that I would be better off single. Then out of the blue this guy came out of nowhere he had blonde hair blue eyes perfect body great sense of humor and (ladies you know we all are looking for this in a man) a job. I brushed him off thinking here is just another jerk, but this jerk was chasing me, I couldn't believe it. He kept asking me out and so I went ahead and accepted. Three years later we are still together, I wake up some mornings and ask myself "is this for real am I still with this beautiful man?" He is in great shape, he runs everyday and has healthy eating habits (which has helped me out so much). He has stood behind me thru my whole band experience so far. Anyways, I just want to show that there is still hope out there just be yourself and be happy with yourself and that other person will come around just be patient.

I wanted to :blushing: this post, too. I have just started seeing a guy with freaking 6-pack abs :w00t:, I am not kidding. The most beautiful man I have ever had the pleasure to lay my hands on. :sneaky: LOL Intelligent, family-oriented, great career...etc. I have nowhere near a perfect body and he doesn't care. I still want to lose about 35 lbs (he doesn't know that number, just knows I'm working on it).

I was locked into believing that EVERYBODY that had a body like this guy was shallow and narrow-minded. But I told him I used to be 65 lbs heavier...he didn't care.

So it's absolutely true what they say - those who matter won't mind and those who mind don't matter!!! Hang in there. I KNOW it's hard. BTDT.

Oh man..I couldn't even begin to imagine dating again! lol. I am so fortunate that I have had a great man by my side this whole time!

BUT, I know what it's like. Before I was eligible to get the band, when I was like 16 or 17, I was casually dating a guy that ended up breaking up with me because he thought I was "too fat" and shouldn't wear skirts..and if I'd lose weight he'd go back out with me! He ACTUALLY said that to me!!!!!!

So GOODLUCK GUYS&GALS, that someone who doesn't care is out there, I've certainly met mine!!!!

My boyfriend is also in great shape. He actually runs cuz he likes it. How crazy is that, lol. We actually started dating about 2 months before my banding. So it's nice knowing he wasn't concerned about my weight. He thinks I'm beautiful no matter what. He's in the millitary so we only see each other every few weeks. He's always joking my weight loss is so dramatic it's like getting a new girl every few weeks. Lol

but that being said I go out with my girlfriends every few weeks. I live in a small city so you see the same people all the time. Now guys that I've seen out for years and never gave me a 2nd look when I was heavy hit on me all the time. And it may be juvenille but I take extreme pleasure in turning them all down. And yes I know we all have preferences( I'm short but I'm

a sucker for a tall guy) but the way a lot of men treat heavier girls can be plain out nasty. I consider myself to be attractive and I've got a great personality. But I can't count the number of times I've been passed up for a girl with no brains and a face like a horse just cuz she was thin. Sorry to rant but I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. And ladies you are all beautiful already . You are gonna be smoking when you get to goal

Girl, I'm glad you posted this. Amen!! It is nice to turn them down now I bet. I'm a sucker for a tall guy too. Like you said we all have our physical preferences, but ou need to look past that sometimes too and don't be so rude about it!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
