So I have read about so many people being tight in the morning that they do not eat. Does that mean you will have problems drinking Water?

If I could not get Water down at any time of day. i would consider myself too tight and get a little fill taken out.

That would be too tight for me, others don;t feel the same becasue they need/want strong retriction when the band opens later in the day.

I consider myself tight in the morning, but I mean I cannot eat solid foods until lunchtime. I can definitely sip Water. Sometimes I can drink a half a cup of coffee. If I am hungry, I'll have yogurt or Carnation Instant Breakfast. I cannot eat eggs or fruit or Cereal. If you can't drink water, I would imagine you're too tight (I wake up thirsty!).

I consider myself tight because I can't eat solids. But I have no problem drinking a protien shake or slimfast and a cup of coffee. Since I didn't have any solids to wash down I slowly drink at least 2 glasses of Water before lunch.< /p>

PB stands for Productive Burp meaning you burp up food. I have seen some use it to refer to vomiting. There is a thread I stumbled across that had the meaning to many of the acronyms used on this site....I saved it as a Favorite.

I cannot eat in the mornings. Anything I drink in the morning that is cold I have to sip. Hot beverages like coffee or hot tea go down almost as they did pre-surgery.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
