Hi Everyone,

Been gone a while. I was coming by all the time and no one was around, so I stopped checking for few weeks. Glad to see some conversation again.

NB- GREAT NEWS! I'm envious and watch out, cause I'm buckling down to move forward (or down) again. I have 26 to go to onederland. You're doing great and I'm hoping your success will motivate me to start moving. It's amazing to have lost over 90 pounds without exercise, but it's time to move. ALso, my skin is so loose! I'd like to help that along as well if possible.

I hope the rest of you are doing well!. Carol....don't don't don't give up.

I went for a fill today because well, my eating is weird. Either I can eat next to nothing and throw up, or I can eat tons of stuff- and it's the wrong stuff- chips, crackers, frozen yogurt, etc. Been having too much reflux as well. But I can swallow more liquid at a time and I thought I needed to be tightened and just go back to living on shakes.< /p>

Well, Dr. K put me under the fluroscope and said I'm SOOO tight that no wonder I'm living on frozen yogurt and crackers and ....all the wrong foods. And he was concerned about the reflux. Even showed me how a sip of Water with my own saliva was causing it. So, he actually took a bit out (I never ask ccs). He said I'll feel better, and he wants me to eat better choices. I'm a little nervous that I'll gain, but heck, I've stayed within a two pound range the past two months eating what I shouldn't. And I did lose most of my weight when I wasn't as tight, so maybe he has a point. I'm working it.

Best to all,

Hey all! I haven't been here in a long time. I hope everyone is doing well. I've been doing great, mostly maintaining until I started my summer rotation in nursing school. I feel like I've been eating everything that isn't nailed down or still alive! I feel disgusting, so I went for a fill yesterday. I haven't needed a fill in 10 months or so. I'm ready to get the rest of my weight off (plus whatever I have gained in the last three weeks), so hopefully this will do it. I usually feel it the next morning, but so far I don't. He only did 1/4 cc, so I may need just a tad more. We'll see. I feel better now that I'm taking control back.

Anyway, hope you all are having a great summer!

Wow...nice to see some activity here.

I am doing okay. Not losing, but not gaining. Just stuck. Don't like my new band. It's broken or something. I have had it since the beginning of Feb, and I haven't lost anything!! Oh...and it's completely full. So there you have it.

I'm glad to hear you all are doing well!

It is good to see some activity here again.... I am also pretty much stuck. I had hoped the summer would help me break thru this wall for the last 15 pound push. My gall bladder decided to interrupt the party last week and demand my attention. Now that its out... I get to start this all over again. fun fun fun....

I love this. We're all hitting walls of one kind or another. But this time, we have support and maybe we all should try to come back more- these are the times we all need folks who are going through it!

For me, it's about two things. Exercise and stopping this dammmmmmmmmn shoulder pain that is visiting me again after yesterday's fill. When I post about it, a ton of folks show up. Guess I'm not the only one who gets in every so often- this was obviously the fill the set it off this time. It's such a horrible pain. Makes me worry about future surgeries, etc. But, maybe I'll reach goal eventually and they'll loosen the band for good! That's a goal to want to reach.

I'm also dealing with being looser- the fear that I'll eat more. But my husband keeps reminding me that I lost most of my weight NOT as tight as I've been these last couple of months. So, who knows?

Glad to see everyone. Keep complaining! THis is the place for it, right?

ONEDERLAND!!!!!!!!!!

Such a good feeling to be in Onederland. Thanks to everyone for the support, encouragement and feedback. I can now say I only weigh 20 lbs more than my husband!!! He is a fit, athletic Marine :( so needless to say I am feeling pretty darn good!!!!!

I am still experiencing a bit of reflux but I saw my reg doctor this week and he is thrilled that I have lost soooo much. He told me taking 1-2 tablets of Zantac each day is not harmful. I do not take it everyday but if I know if I am going to eat something that might be upsetting, I just go ahead and take one.

I am not up for a fill until Aug 10 so hopefully I will be down 2-3 more lbs by then if I stay on the treadmill.

Thanks again everyone!! Have a good weekend.:tongue2:

Congrats Numbergirl! That's the best feeling!

It looks like many of us are stuck. My fill on Wednesday wasn't it. It has always kicked in before now. Guess I'll go back next month and get another small adjustment. It's almost there, but not quite. It's been so long since I've needed adjustments I had forgotten how frustrating it can be.

My shoulder has been hurting too since the fill. It always has after a fill and if I had eaten too much. I always know because my shoulder starts hurting right away, even if I don't feel it in my stomach. Mine always gets better, I hope yours will too.

Nice to hear from you all. I hope we'll start being more active over here again. It has always been such a source of comfort and support. Hope you all have a great week!

Hey Bea- Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one who gets shoulder pain after a fill. I haven't had it everytime and it's obviously nothing to do with how much as he took some out this time, which shocked me, but I was having too much reflux. I'm think the pain occurs because they're aggravating the area when they use the port, and my surgeon makes me not eat for 5 hours before so that's lot of room for air. I'm going to try to eat a meal before the cutoff next time...I didn't bother cause I didn't want to get up early. But maybe that will help. It's better but not quite gone after 3 days. For me it's if I'm on empty. So, everytime it starts a little, I eat a couple of tablespoons of something and it goes away. I'm figuring another couple of days til I'm clear of it.

And of course, as usual for me after a fill, I'm not very hungry. I'd really love to get to 100 off! "Sigh", it's not easy. I'm trying to go back to the eating I did well on at the start. Fish, fish and fish with a bit of potato and Protein drinks. I found a new love- MUSCLE MILK. They make a "lite" version too. I just bought a banana flavor and it it's not AWFUL, I'll add some ice and blueberries and have me a little Protein smoothie!

Anyway, got to go. Have to cook dinner and want put a Soup together to have for the week.

See ya all later!

Yes, I like Muscle Milk Lite too. Luckily they sell it my local convenience store and the hospital where I am doing my clinicals. It's pricey that way, but nice to have in a pinch when I don't have anything else with me.

Well, they evidently put in the "crazy" version of the band when I had my surgery! LOL! I had my fill last week and really felt nothing, but now I'm so tight liquids and Soups are all I can get down. Whatever! I'm just glad to have restriction back. I really thought I was going to have to go back in a few weeks. The only bad thing is that I'm gurgling again. Nothing like sitting in a room full of people and sounding like I'm about to explode. NICE! LOL! Oh well, it's a small price to pay I suppose. :-) I get the hiccups a lot too.

Gwen, glad the pain is subsiding. Mine has gone away too.

Hope y'all have a great week!

Hi All! Glad to hear that everyone is sticking it out in these rough band times. I went in last week to get a fill and feel no restriction. Honestly, I'm not sure what I am supposed to feel, right now I am trying to maintain my weight. I've lost 90lbs and I'm happy with my weight loss, don’t want to be so skinny that all my bones show (really doesn’t like right with my body shape). It's weird though because I'm so used to restriction that this little bit of freedom scares me. So I’m sticking it out and if I feel like I have too much freedom I’m going back for another fill. I’m currently at 4.75, previously I was at 5 and had a very tough time with reflux and then went to 4.5 so we’ll see. I wonder if I went back to 5 if I’ll have reflux issues again.

Take care,

Jenn

Hi everyone,

I'm not feeling tight enough, though it's very nice not to feel every bit fighting to get through and one pb'd once all week. But, I'm nervous that I'm going to eat and eat and eat. I laugh cause my first 80 or so came off without a struggle and not with a too tight band. So, I think I may actually have to start doing some of the work here, and I hate it. If it wasn't for the reflux, I like it when the band doesn't let me eat. What can I say? My shoulder pain is almost gone....I feel a tweak here and there. And strangely enough, if I'm on the computer too much it starts to act up a bit as well. Why can't they figure this out and fix it for all of us with that side effect? UUUGGHH!

Anyway, I have to start dinner (food is still central to our lives) so I'm outta here. Keep in touch everyone!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
