Fill 'er Up my first fill

Recommended Posts

Hi friends and neighbors,

Just had my first fill yesterday. It was so easy! I got 4.2 cc in a 10cc band

It was not a moment too soon. The last 5 days had been bandster hell. I'm very grateful i didn't have to wait longer. Thankfully i hung on and didn't gain anything back when i was feeling little to no restriction. I managed to just bounce 2 lbs up and down for about 9 days.

I'm really interested to see how things go tomorrow when i can move back to mushy then regular food....can't wait because i need and long for the not hungry feeling that i get when i'm restricted and eat solids.

I return for my next eval and or fill in 3 weeks

say a prayer that i feel that good band feeling:biggrin:

You lucky dog! I'm going to be in bandster hell a lot longer than you were because my surgeon won't even DISCUSS fills until your weight loss has dropped to less than two pounds a week. That could be months of white knuckling on my part! I hope you don't have any sliming or PBing episodes after this first fill! Good luck!

Wow, that was fast! My doctor won't do them until it's been at least 4 weeks (I scheduled mine 4 weeks to the day...). LOL

Wow, how did you get so lucky? I still have a little restriction from surgery, but my Dr won't give fills until you are 90 days out. Something about insurance. Speaking of, I'm going to call mine now to check. Good luck, hope you are having some restriction, let us know how it feels since you are the first.

hi,

i'm on my first day of mushies today....i had my Breakfast cheesecake (recipe in that section) 1/2 cup. then mid am 32oz Water (can drink pretty fast) and for lunch had baked chicken on salad...ate 1/2cup chicken and 1/2 cup salad..feel really full. i haven't had near the restriction that i did postop...of course my first surg was obstructed...but even after the second i had pretty good restriction till last week. MY restriction from postop faded gradually.

All i can say is that salad was my saving grace when i felt so un restricted...because i could get that feeling of fullness....i have seen JACK say in other places on the site about going for not hungry in stead of full....i think i'm going to need a little while before i completely can get that concept. just another step in my screwy eating patterns to mend.

i will go for an eval/fill in 3 weeks....will let you know

amanda

oh and i'm down 1.4 lbs since my fill

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
