Hi Everyone,

I am so excitied to be part of the forum:smile:

I am 61 and have struggled with my weight since I had my 3 children:tt1:

My Husband of 34 years was killed in the line of duty 5 years ago,

and I found myself weighing 300lbs. food became everything to me:frown:

I heard about the Lap Band Surgery on TV , I called the local Dr.

and went to the seminar. I have gone through all my testing and

am working on getting the Pre-OP weight off. I have lost 20lbs

10 more to go:wub:

This is the first time in a long long time I feel hope that I can do

this and become healthy & well and have self control.

God Speed to Everyone:wub: We will make it:smile:

Hi,

I wanted to encourage everyone that we can do this. Last night was

hard put I don't have much to eat in my house which helps. I

had a real struggle in my mind if I should have another Protein Shake.< /span>

I won the struggle and went to bed and I am down 2 more lbs today.

We can win this struggle, I realize I can't even have my surgery until

I lose my 30lbs. My Dr. only will do the surgery every other Tues. and

he only does 2 people. I weigh in on Wed. I don't have Insurance so

I have paid for everything. I know that it is worth it! One Minute at

a time and we will make it.

God Speed

Susie

I'm going through the process and am looking forward to having a date.

I think when I have a solid date I will be elated!!

I have had a weight problem ever since having my children also.

It was a good excuse when they were little but now that they are 15 and 20 and my weight kept on climbing and climbing (right now 341) I have no one to blame but me.

I wish you the best of luck and hope to keep up with all the others starting with this journey right now!

:)

Hello and welcome. Just wanted to say sorry about the loss of your husband. My brother was killed in the line of duty in 1994. "Blessed is he who lay down his life for his brother". We're all one big family here and will be with you every step of the way.

Hi to all my friends,

This a new begining for all of us:smile2:......With Spring in the air,

we all fill like there is a New Hope for us.............................

I am really excitied my surgery is on March 11th, the proces

was simple, I got through all the testing and have lost 25lbs.

I know that I have to do my part after surgery, and eat right

and exercise. I am committed to this being a way of life.

I am so excitied that the Lap-Band will help me, but I need

to do my part also.

How is your first weeks after Surgery?

Has anyone had a problem with a yellow tongue?

Take it One Day At a Time. I know we will make it:redface:...............

Hi Susie Q and welcome. You might enjoy joining the thread for band people over 60. It's in the age related support area. Scroll down on Main page, you'll find it.

Truly appreciate the sacrifice your family made for our country. Now get your life back and live long as a bander. You deserve it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
