AWESOME!!!!

I'm still holding out that I'm not purchasing any new clothes until I hit a hundie off. I had to buy one pair of jeans, though.

I cannot imagine a 1X, how VERY exciting!!!

I couldn't keep wearing my old clothes... I and I quote, looked like "a melting pair of black pants." I needed clothes badly!!! You look smaller in clothes that fit, also.

congrats kyteach!!! What a success :)

faithmd - how are you gonna keep 'em on or up with 100 gone? I couldn't keep my pants on after 60 pounds. I could de-pants myself walking across the room. I only have about 4 outfits in any size as I've been going down. I just can't afford to shop that much ;)

I love this shrinking thing!!! We should all be proud of ourselves for taking the step to changing our lives!! We are all at various stages of this journey and yet it is still amazing to see the results in each of us

I started at an 18 - almost 20 and wearing 2x shirts.

I'm now wearing 10's comfortably and starting to move into some 8's. I had to buy a size 8 this past weekend and I almost danced for joy!!!!

I can wear a large shirt now - I didn't think I would get below a 1X because I'm kindof chesty. I still get some 1X's because of the fit. I can't deal with gaping buttons.

I still hate that I'm an apple shape. Most of my last 20+ pounds are all in my stomach!!! If I could just chop it off I would be at least a 6 if not a 4. Grrrrr! Darn genetics!(@*#%$

I've lost 75 and I'm still wearing the same stuff. Granted it's a little big on me, but not so much that it's falling off. WTH, huh?

It make me see red when the rag mags talk about how much some star has lost and how 15 lbs is three or four dress sizes...in whose world???

Hi all,

I'm only 20 down so far, so no major melting yet (but I can't tell you how inspiring it is to read about all your successes--please keep it up!), but everything is fitting much more loosely. I've probably gone down one size from 24 to 20-22. I won't be shopping for quite a while, though, as I've got a full wardrobe for every size from 14 to 26 in the back of my closet. Has anyone else done this? I lost down to a 14 several years ago and as I started gaining weight again I didn't get rid of anything because I kept telling myself I'd be back there soon. I can't wait to closet shop as I move downward this time, and I'll definitely be getting rid of things as I shrink out of them.

I've got some things I've saved in smaller sizes. Thankfully I did save some too-tight work clothes.

The difference this time will be when I finally give in and buy new clothes, I will be dumping the older larger ones and not looking back.

Me too! I have a stash of old too small clothes that I can't wait to get back in to. We bought a house this past summer thought so I got rid of a lot of clothes I now wish I had kept. I did keep my absolute favorites and stuff that still had tags on them. But what I wish I had kept was the about 20 pairs of jeans that I gave to Goodwill. Sizes from 16 to 22 (I'm now wearing a "snug" 24 and I refused to buy any bigger).

But I can't wait to "closet shop" again! I for sure don't have the $ to go out and buy new stuff every month!

Jovi, you look gorgeous! You look like a totally different person!

Before lap band, I was 2x on top and 26 on the bottom. Now I am a size XL or 1x on top and size 20 jeans. Its really exciting going down in jeans sizes. I can even sqeeze into size 18 and 16 jeans but know that is totally way too tight on me.

I can also fit size L shirts but not to the point where they look good. It's just amazing to me I can get my big arms into size L jackets. I can't wait till I fit into a size 16 jeans for real. It would just be nice to get out of the plus size section once and for all (without yoyoing up and down!)

I think its good to buy some new clothes. My size 26, then 24, then 22 jeans kept falling down on me, so I bought 2 pairs of new jeans. If I buy jeans that arent expensive (from Marshalls or Target) I don't feel guilty if I am a different size in a month. I figure, you can buy jeans for the price of a lunch at Panera, it is not such a big deal to buy new clothes.

I think you should buy a new pair of jeans in each new size, even if they are cheapies! Well worth it to have pants that FIT, and makes you feel good to have that new lower size on :w00t:

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
