What is your Fill Level in a 10 cc AP Band?

Recommended Posts

I've had 4 fills since my Sept. 07 surgery, and now have a total of 7.8ccs. My first fill was 6cc, then 1cc, then .6, then .2. Oh, and I'm TIGHT.

Everyone is different so you may respond to a smaller fill level, but it sounds to me like he's being conservative too.. Always better to be too loose than too tight, but it seems like they could inject a good amount and then back it out and adjust the level, at least that's how my fills are done. The whole amount gets pulled out, then put back in and some added, then I sit there and drink 3 cups of Water with the needle sticking out of me to check the level. Works like a champ.

I've had three fills & I am at 5cc now. Sounds like you need a new doc if he doesn't go over 4! That's sounds weird...is that really what he meant? I am feeling restriction and losing 1-2 pounds per week, but I think I will be getting one more fill at least. I'm trying to get in the green zone....almost there.

I am going for my 3rd fill already! The first 2 didnt do anything! The only thing I feel is if I do not chew enough food gets stuck and slowly goes down. It hurts and I get a lil light headed like Im gonna pass out(is this normal?). But it clears up and I am fine. Still fat-- and fine. Im getting discouraged. I want it to happen so bad! I have a 10 cc band and think I am only at 3 cc!:)

I have a 10cc band. I was in today for my 5th fill. My first fill was 4 cc's 2nd was 2 cc's 3rd was 1 cc 4th was .5 and today was .5 for a total of 8 cc's. I did notice today when I was drinking my Water I could feel it going down and it seemed a little slower. Time will tell if I'm at my "sweet spot". Anyone know why they tell you to wait 2 wks to tell if you have restriction? My Dr. tell me I'm right on schedule. I have lost 43 lbs.I was banded on 8/20/07. I still have about 50 to go.

I have faith that the rest of my weight will come of.

I had one fill to 3cc in a 10cc band. I felt restricted for the first few days but began to feel hungry like pre-band. I am so pleased to hear that I am not the only one that feels this way. This website helps whenever I feel discouraged. I wish my doctor and support group explained that I needed more cc's to get to the right amount. I love reading everyone's posts! :biggrin2: I go for my next fill in two days.

I just had my second fill today, for a total of 7.8cc's already. Started with 7cc during surgery (although the operative report said only 5 was put in). First fill added .4 and today another .4cc. Did not feel any different after first fill and am unsure so far after this fill since taking in liquids!

Good luck everyone!

I have approx 7cc's in my 10 cc band. I just had my sixth fill today. First fill was 2 cc's and all the rest were 1cc.

I'm on liquids for two days and then soft food for two days and after that I can figure out if this fill did anything. Like most people, I am ready for restriction because I've lost no weight for the last 2.5 weeks! Feels like I'm just wasting time waiting to get to right fill.

I suspect 7 to 8 cc's is where I need to be for my sweet spot.

i cant believe a doc would put 7cc in a band during the operation- that boggles my mind! at least you have a head start- I got my first fill today- 3.5cc. My doc said I could eat mushies. I think I am feeling a little restriction :smile2:

I have the same surgeon as jbentleyrn, and had 5cc's put in during my surgery. Go for fill #6 next wk...still don't have perfect restriction , was told I'd need to be over 8cc to get there...

2cc from surgery

3 cc added with 1st fill

1 cc added 2nd fill (2 wks ago)

Feeling some restriction (finally) and less hunger (FINALLY!). I think I'll be ok here for awhile...some difficulty getting things down...have to eat slow and chew really well.

I have 3.9cc in my 10cc band. I did have 4.3cc in my band but was way to tight and after 2.5 weeks of not being able to drink or eat anything I went in and had 4cc taken out. I am not able to eat small amounts and drink without a problem. If I don't chew my food good it will get stuck and I will slime for about 20 minutes (not a good feeling). I go back in for another fill in 2 weeks and will only get a small fill. I am afraid that I will be to tight again if I get to much and I didn't enjoy that at all. I know that everyone is different and that everyone meets their sweet spot differently, but when I read the posts I am amazed at all the people that have a lot of cc's in their band. Is there anyone else out there that has a small amount of cc's or no cc's in their band? I would love to hear from you.

I have a 10 cc band with 7.2cc's. I cannot imagine being tighter. I can barely eat a half cup of food.

My doc put in 2 cc's during surgery

1st fill was 2 cc's

2nd fill was 2 cc's

3rd fill was .8 cc's

4th fill was .4cc's which was in November. I have not needed a fill since then.

I just had my third fill today - total of 6cc's in a 10cc band.

The 2nd fill lasted about 2 1/2 weeks, feeling some restriction today. Let's see how this one goes. My Dr. is very conservitive after 5 cc's, she likes you to live with it for awhile.

Total of 63lbs so far.

03/24/07 - started journey - 374lbs

10/25/07 - surgery date - 349lbs

12/05/07 - 1st fill - 325lbs - 2cc'sin a 10cc band

01/16/08 - 2nd fill - 319lbs - 3cc's in a 10cc band

02/28/08 - 3rd fill - 311lbs - 1cc in a 10ccband

I went for my first fill today and found out that I had 2.4 cc put in at surgery. Today he added 2.6 cc, for an even 5 cc in my 10 cc band. I'm feeling the restriction sipping my Protein Water. Hope to see the scale drop a bunch over the next few weeks.....

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
