What level are all the Nov 07 bandsters at?

You're right about the carbs, Cindy. Whenever I cut back on carbs, I lose. I have to psyche myself up to do it though. I had a rough few weeks. Need to get back to business.

69 lbs is awesome!! I had .5 put in today to bring me to 7.5. This should get me into the 100's.

I was banded Nov 5. I have had 5 fills and 6 unfills...lol...I am going in tomorrow to get more taken out...as of now I have 4cc in my 10cc band

and I can barely get through 1/2 cup of food without throwing up! I have been having night regurgitations (spelling??) for the past week or so. I feel too constricted.

I have noticed as I am loosing the fat around my middle my band started to fee tighter and the last couple of months I have been going about every 2 weeks for an un-fill...

If your at 9cc in a 10cc band....and your still not having restriction the doctor may have made your pouch too big. I haven't touched anything with carbonation since the week before my surgery. I heard that too much carbonation can stretch the pouch...you should have them do an ultrasound to check the size of the pouch...

Take care!

I'm not sure if you are talking to me but when I got to 9cc I did end up having a barium meal and it was discovered that my band was not placed in the proper place so I had it redone on 10 July. So far so good.

So, my wife, who put off being banded when i was banded a year ago, just found out that my employer has changed our insurance. They now require a 6 month supervised diet before being banded. Now my wife is very hurt, mad, and upset because i got the express lane to approval, and she did not. to make it worse, we do not have 6 months left this year, and don't know if the insurance will change for next year. aaauuuugggghhhh!!!!!!

I haven't been on in a long time. I pretty much haven't lost any more. I was banded on Nov. 5th and have lost only 30lbs since then. I have 6.5cc's in a 10cc band. I've had several adjustments and many "stuck" issues. My doctor up and left the practice to boot! I got a letter in the mail along with a telephone call from his office wanting to change my appointment. I did receive a letter from my doc personally though stating that he was no longer practicing at this facility and that he will contact me in the future when he knows where he will be located. He also said that he does not support the facility where he was practicing any longer. What the? Yes I did write him back, he had a return address on the envelope, but have not heard anything. It's been over a month.

There's going to be another doctor coming in to the practice where I was going sometime this month to replace my doc. I don't know this man, never met him. I'm a little nervous because I have a tipped port and have had trouble in the past with it. It seemed that only my doc could gain access to it. Geeeez, ya know? Anyway, just wanted to post with the latest going on in my life. thanks for the ear or rather "eyes". Dianne

some people think this journey is a walk in the park, and we are taking the "easy" way out. far from it. it's easy to ignore your weight and eat whatever you want.

sorry you've had troubles.

I'm not sure if you were talking to me or not miztrniceguy but I haven't ignored my weight or thought of the band as an easy way out, even though that would have been nice - if it were true. :-) I'm just having a slow go of it, not to mention no doc to turn to at the moment either.

I hope that the insurance you have will change come the new year, maybe back to the same sort of one you had when you got your band? That would be nice for your wife. Tell her to go for it quickly if that is the case. However, if it is not the case maybe she can get the ball rolling come Jan 09 and have the surgery by the summer. Good luck to you on your weight loss and to her for "new and improved" insurance. Dianne

Unfortunately for many of us there are hiccups on the way. It doesn't help when we can and do eat the wrong foods and it especially doesn't help when you have to get rebanded. I'm at 3cc on a 10cc band so I'm hoping my next fill will help get some more weight loss happening. Sorry about your doc leaving Dianne, hope the new doc is good.

dianne, i was not meaning to imply you were ignoring your weight or anything like that. i meant that altho some people, not banded people, think that having surgery is the easy way out, but it's not. just because we had surgery doesn't make it a cake walk. sorry, if you thought i meant you.

Also, sadly it is the same insurance i had, but my employer added the diet requirement. and i found out today that my employer is dropping uhc, and i will have to choose from bc/bs and aetna. i do not know what the coverage will be.

thank you for the kind thoughts.

I was banded 14 November 2007. I have had one fill and am at 5.5ml in a 10ml band. I reached target in September. I've set myself another loose target of 161 pounds.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
