Let me ask you guys a question. If you were taking a quiz and the instructor handed you two sheets of paper, would you not check to see if at least one of the sheets was double-sided? Apparently, that's a little too difficult for one of my classes. I just finished grading the first quiz they took, and about a quarter of the class failed to answer the questions on the back of the first sheet. You would think that when reading the questions, they would have wondered where questions 8-13 were, since they all answered 1-7 and 14-20. Surely that would have raised alarms in their brains. I never thought I'd have to remind a college class, "Now remember, children, whenever I give you a quiz or exam that is more than a page long, be sure to check and make sure you've answered the questions on both sides of the paper!" :):)

LOL that reminds me of one of my Literature class's I took. We had our final exam, 3 pages long. Six if you counted both sides. Only 8 of us in a class of 37 finished all six pages. Needless to say, the other 29 petitioned to retake, and unfortunately they won the chance. Made no sense to me, I mean hell if your dumb enough to miss the other side, what makes you think you will actually pass it the second time????????? :)

I know! After the third one, I was just sitting here blinking in wonder and thinking something along the lines of, "Gee, I wonder which of my students are probably going to be getting great big Fs at the end of the semester?" I'm really wondering if they all sit at the same table and managed to copy each other, honestly.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
