SO happy and excited for those with surgeries comming up.

I tell you this past month and a few days went a lot faster then the month leading up to surgery. I thought it would never get here. It was worse then a kid waiting for Christmas. The only anticipation I can relate it to, was probably being pregnant and waiting for the time for the birth. I know it isn't the same thing, but as adults there just aren't that many things that we "can't wait" to have happen in our lives. So this band surgery was a very big deal to me and I feel like it was like being giving a new life. or at least a new chance at life. Am I making any sense this morning?

Gosh I feel like I gotta fan club!!! You guys are wonderful to put up with my long thread for 18 days... just think it is already down to only 9 days left. I'm so excited. Thank you for all the support I've received from this thread. I think coming here each day is helping me realize I'm finally getting somewhere.Getting to this point has been a long process for me and its finally coming to the end of the wait...and the begining of a life worth living WELL!!! Thank you all (((HUGS))))

9 days WHOO HOO!!

Pretty cool. Did I see you are getting banded in Nashville, TN?

I posted a thread saying I will be in town from the 1st of April through the 20th for family visits. I would love to meet you if you want. Let me know. You can PM me.

OOPS my bad. It says Memphis, TN. Well I might be able to swing there for a visit. I have lots of time on my hands.

Penni ~ Thanks for the offer but I think Memphis is further than you think it is like 3 hours from Nashville. It would be great to meet you but thats alot of extra driving for you!

Vicky, you're making great sense!! What an excellent way to describe the opportunity of being banded! I love your analogy.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
