Dr. Spiegel stages?

Recommended Posts

I have gone to my seminars and everything and can't for the life of me remember what he requires for post op food stages. Could be I read too much Lapband Talk and swirls my brain :-) I am going to call Monday and get another packet, but a friend of mine is going down town this weekend to hit some health food stores - I wanna go and get some supplies. Anyone know how long his stages are and what the requirements are? Thanks for the help! Oh, and keep your fingers crossed that Monday I get a surgery date.

We are going to be close together, he does mine on Tuesday 19th. I am on liquids for 1 day (but I think that is because I got in so quickly.) I found out on Wednesday of last week, had my preop on Friday, do Clear Liquids tomorrow and surgery on Tuesday.

I liked to have died when I found out we can't ever use powder Protein. I have spent a small fortune on Protein powders. But, he has the best success rate, so I am going to do what he says.

Good luck with your surgery, keep in touch.

He only does surgery on tuesdays and friday so you are close to the same date. Did they give you a time on when your sugery would be? They told me to be there at 6 in the morning and i would find out then...That kind of sucks for family coming over for support. I find the slimfast shakes to be filling so far. Are you outpatient or staying over the night? I will be outpatient and will be coming back the same day. Hope all goes well with your surgery. I'm going to try out the support groups so I may see you there.

They told me to be there at 5:30 and I should be having surgery around 7:30. I am having it at University General and my Insurance is making me stay overnight. I will make a few of the support groups, it is over an hour to his office, so that sucks for an hour support group, but I am sure I will go some. They have a local support group (not affiliated with Spiegel) that I will probably go to here.

I hope you are doing well on your first post surgery day. Dr. Speigel did my lapband May 12, 2006. I did the whirlwind thing as well....went to seminar on sat., had consult with him mon. , wed had pre-op and friday morning was getting my lapband. I have never regretted it. I have lost over 80#s so far and have about 20 to lose. Good luck and I am looking forward to hearing about your progress.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
