Oh! I figured out that you thought that was me that sent that footrub! But it was your other Texas fillie! You cheater, you! LOL

After I figured out what you were talking about, I DID send you a goodie on your Sparkpeople page, though!

Just remember that I loved you FIRST! :)

I hear you did quite the run today, WHOS! 10K! Good going! That is nothing short of AMAZING! I know I've said it a million times, but I wish I would finally just get off my tucas and start that stuff! It would be awesome to do a tri...but until I can run, that is out. You are awesome, WHOS!

However, I set a new high on my girl today! I went 68 miles on my bike! Unlike some of you poor northerners, it was GORGEOUS here today! I feel so great about the ride, you have no idea! My legs did great, but my neather-regions were screaming on the last part. I must say that my new road bike was worth every penny....the comfort level is amazing! Now I have complete confidence that I made the right choice when I bought this bike.

What a fantastic day! :)

I sure DID post the incorrect link to the spreadsheet before...SORRY!

Try this: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pdgDInAagx9z-xy8VoCZ8Bw

Send me your stats, folks! I don't know about y'all, but I had a heck of a week, and it really paid off!

The only downside is that my shoulder is really, truly out of whack. I hope and pray it heals QUICK so I can get back to the weights, but I think I am OUT for the entire week. This is gonna kill me! Well, not the WHOLE week...I can still do leg day and ab work!

Ok, so I took this weekend off as I was north of Heyward, WI for a church guys weekend of snowtubing and watch movies (and yes, some drinks:frown:, but not too many).

Anyway, I went to the gym Friday morning before we left. I had a personal trainer do my measurements for the first time since I joined last April, which was about 5 mos before my band. Anyway, in that time, I have lost just over 90 lbs, bf went from almost 31% to 19%, and I lost almost 40 inches from my body. I was so excited.

I then went on to do my lower body workout for approx. 45 minutes and 65 minutes on the eliptical machine for interval training.

Back at it this morning for 65 minutes of intervals on the eliptical machine again. Tonight will be upper body. I'll post the workout later today as I don't have the time to do it right now.

Stef, I'll get you my numbers as well then. Thanks.

Oh I'm so glad you posted, CeraDad! I accidentally deleted an extra row from the spreadsheet, and then didn't know who it was because it was gone and I'm an igit! Yes, please send me all your info and I will get it added back in right away! So sorry!

Hi Everyone,

Reading everyones responses here make me feel very optimisic about my future with my band. I just got banded on friday and had a really rough weekend. I have not started my walking or exsercising yet. Is there any advise that i can get from you guys to start getting back into the swing of things?

Thanks to all who posted support of just getting to the gym and doing it, no matter what! I am going to the gym this evening to walk on the track. I figured that this will be a good start for me to get familiar with the facility and progress from there!

This thread is really motivating, thanks to everyone! Seeing your successes helps me to stay focused too!

You are quite welcome! I got your PM and will be updating everyone that I have tomorrow.

OH! Congrats, Syndy, on your band! I know the first week is a little rough, but it gets better so much, so fast! You will love your band, even if it frustrates you at times. Please stick around! WHOS is right...walk, walk, walk to start. Then work your way into some serious cardio and resistance training. NO ONE has to be as crazy about resistance as I am or do NEAR as much, but it IS essential to reshaping your body and everyone needs to do some on a regular basis. The cardio is what seems to come easier to folks. Bike and elliptical are great ones in the cardio room. WELCOME!

Good for you, Alisa! I kept looking for you today to see if you would check in. I'm eager to see how you do...I think you are going to do great! You just seem to have a good, open attitude! That's the biggest hurdle!

30 min elliptiKILL

30 min Wt Training

100 crunches

Overdid it last Friday, so took it a little slower today. :smile2:

I love that you call it elliptiKILL! That is so appropriate! There is a lawyer that goes to my gym that I talk to regularly, and when he is finished with his resistance training, he always says, "Well, I'm off to the CARDIAC room!" (Instead of CARDIO) That is also particularly appropriate!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
