Do I need another fill already?

Recommended Posts

I had my first fill of 1.5cc 11 days ago. I felt good restriction for about 4-5days and now I can eat quite a bit of food without a full feeling or pb, or anything. I do have difficulty with meat unless it is moist but I hated meat prior to my band.

I have gained about 2 lbs also. I work out on the treadmill 20-30 minutes per day and with weights 3 times per week for 30-40 minutes. I feel like I have lost some but the scales don't say so.

Thoughts on this? Can you lose your restriction that fast or was it all just swelling to begin with?

Working out with weights can pause your weight loss. I am experiencing the same problem with the scale not moving. I started working out pretty intense the past 3 weeks 4-5 x's a week with weights/ cardio and have only lost 2 lbs..I was told by the trainer at the gym I am acquiring muscle mass from the weights since muscle weighs more then fat, he told me to focus on cardio for awhile so that is what Iam going to do..I know Iam losing inches though since Iam officially in a size 12 and when I started the gym feb 1st the 12's were too tight, dont give up on the exercise maybe just focus on cardio more then the weights, do not let the numbers on the scale discourage you..how your clothes are fitting is the true test!

Alice, I am experiencing the same problem. I had my first fill a week ago. Had restriction for the first two or three days then - nothing!! I know I am eating more than I should be, and I am back to using will power to try not to eat. If I am still not getting restriction by the start of next week, I will be calling my doctor to find out if I need another fill. Good luck to you as well. WE'RE GONNA MAKE IT!!

I had to get my third fill before I got any restriction, but it turned out one of those fills missed the port.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
