"Boys" exclude GIRLS.

"Little" is a slur against the "vertically challenged".

Did I miss anything?

Hell, just rename the book "The Three Israelis and the Palestinian S.O.B.". (But the third Israeli was wise and built his wall with cement and razor wire, backing it up with machine guns and mortars....)

Hon I live it every day, I live in the land of PC lunacy, I live in the country where a one eyed claw handed fundamentalist was allowed to spew hate for years whilst collecting £100's a week in state benefits, because he was an asylum seeker who would face death if he was deported. Yup because he was wanted on terrorist charges in a country that carried the death penalty.

Go figure............

The glories of the European Human Rights Act.

Why dya think we all want to emigrate??

I have to laugh at articles like this b/c it makes it seem like we are sitting around thinking about things to complain about and to change when in all reality we really don't care.

But b/c I also felt you were leaving a huge part of the real article out I had to read for myself and I love how you left key parts of this article out like the officials were also worried about stereotyping builders.

"Officials also attacked the story - called The Three Little Cowboy Builders - for stereotyping the building trade."

"But its authors were also told that it portrays the building industry in a bad light.

Judges said "retelling a story" was acceptable, but it "should not alienate parts of the workforce", adding that builders should be "positive" role models for young children.

"Is it true that all builders are cowboys, builders get their work blown down, and builders are like pigs?" the judges asked."

If you read the below quote from the original article you will see how Muslims feel about issues like this, I have to wonder why you left this out....

"Muslims criticised Becta's response and insisted that a computer program based on the Three Little Pigs should be welcomed in state schools.

Tahir Alam, the head of education at the Muslim Council of Britain, said: "We are not offended by that at all."

Also if you are going to quote something from an article why do you feel the need to add YOUR own bits and pieces to try to get YOUR point across. Here is my example...." The digital book The 3 Little Cowboy Builders retells the classic children's tale. It was rejected at a Government-sponsored awards event because judges had "concerns about the Asian [i.e., Muslim] community," and "the use of pigs raises cultural issues."

The true quote from the article reads like this "The digital remake of the children's classic was criticised by Becta, the education technology agency, because "the use of pigs raises cultural issues".

The reason I am posting all of this is b/c things like this get twisted and make it look like Muslims are complaining about things like this, it makes it appear that we want the entire world to bend over backwards for us and change traditions and stories to make us feel better when in fact we really don't give a damn. Unfortunately others will read what the OP posted and believe it is in fact the truth when it's not even close. I am sick of having to defend myself and other Muslims for the stupidity and ignorance of those out there that don't have the brains to research things for themselves to get the truth but until this kind of crap ends I will continue to do just that. If you look at how easy it was for the OP to bend this story then maybe you can see how easy it is for lies to start and spread about any group of ppl. Read the comments of that article and you will see that many ppl couldn't even get the entire point of the article, instead they start bitching and complaining about Muslims wanting to change things or they should go back to their countries.

Anyway after reading the entire article I can totally see why Becta had to reject this, it's no different then all the PC crap of the past. Do I think it's right? Hell no but sadly this is the way things are going now, everyone is scared to offend everyone. I say get over it, if you don't like something don't go there, don't read it, whatever.

Here is the link to the article in case anyone wants to actually read it for themselves instead of taking what the OP said to be the truth.....Three little pigs 'could offend builders, Muslims' - Telegraph

Bugger I just typed a really long reply and lost it!!!

God that pisses me off!!

I wanted to say that my muslim/black friends are just as embarrassed as I am about the state of the UK. You are right hon, they do pick and choose what they report on, but can the policy makers not see that all they are doing is getting people riled up.

I live in a country now where you can quite literally be arrested for saying the wrong thing, it is lunacy!

I dont agree with rasism in any form but unfortunatly in the UK there are racial tensions on all sides and as yet phrases like 'white trash' havent been outlawed, this leads to a situation that you see all the time at schools where if there are 2 kids involved in a fight, that was started because they fell out , not for a race reason, the white child will be expelled. I think that they both should, JMHO

In the Uk now we have lost control of our borders thanks to the mighty EU, which insists, despite the fact that most of the origional member states have no intention of ever sticking to them, on brining out more and more laws that restrict and define the way that you can live in your own home.

The eastern block countries ( known to most of you yanks as the good old USSR) are now members of the EU which gives them the freedom to travel into the UK whenever they want to look for work.....or claim benefits. We have the most lenient social security system in the world, we have free healthcare for all, and dya know what we are IMPLODING. Go to France and by the channel tunnel crossing the French set up camps, and in those camps there were leaflets being distributed in many languages on how to claim asylum, how to claim benefits and how much you will get if you go to the UK!!

Our police are encountering forms of organised crime the likes of which they have never seen before, child sex trades, women being sold - and I mean SOLD into prostitution - the russian mafia is alive and well and living in the UK.

In the mean time the government is reacting by

banning baa baa black sheep

banning the word blackboard

leaving thousands of kids in care because they are mixed race , so white parents cannot adopt them

banning the union jack from being flown in council offices during the olympic games and the world cups

details on how to claim benefits being printed in 30/50 different languages

arguing constantly about what might offend, and I mean offend anyone, other of course than the middle class, who just get the fun job of footing the bill for it all.

I think, no I KNOW that the muslims of the world are just as pissed off with what the radical idiots are doing as the rest of us, I just dont think that the PC luncy is helping anyone.

Hope I didnt offend cos I truly didnt mean to.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
