Greg,

It's amazing how the Lord works, your post is so inspirational to me, I have it in my favorites so I can share with other friends. To God Be The Glory. I am also sad to hear about your cousin, when you are battling Cancer (that ugly demon) it can be so hard to keep fighting, I know that the Lord was their to receive him home.

Kathy,

I am also sorry to hear about Nana, I had a Nana once, will never have another one again.

"Greater is he that is in me, then he that is in the World"

I feel privalaged to hear all of your stories, thoughts and prayers, I wish all of you the best. I just thought of a "Madeline" ( the childrens book) prayer...."We love our bread and we love our butter but most of all we love each other"

I have returned from our trip to Virginia and my Nana's funeral. It was a lovely service, and she looked beautiful there...she would have been happy to see her hair set so pretty. It hadn't looked that good in years, Nana being pretty well bed-ridden. And so the family were all together and it went nicely and Nana would have been very happy to be among us (and not just in spirit) as we laughed and told stories and as her great grandchildren played together.

I often wondered what the day would be like when "it" happened and we had to take the trip, I never dreamed that I would have the opportunity to share about my Nana with cyber-friends! It has been very healing for me, and I appreciate all of your prayers and good wishes for me. Thank You.

Greg, how was your cousin's service on Saturday? I hope it was uplifting and brought peace and closure to your family, as I'm sure your cousin would have wanted that. God Bless You.

Kathy,

I just got in from the church services and the luncheon. Cousin Dick would have loved the services. Held at a very old Catholic Church and no mater what religion you are this Church is gorgious. Services were very touching and right on the mark. This life is only a journey to the beginning aof a greater existance.

I'm glad your nana's services were good ofr you too. Thats what funerals are about. For the living. Chance to reflect on ones own life.

A thought for you Kathy, When your Nana was born she came into this world crying as her family around her was smiling. When she left this world the family was crying but Nana was smiling as she returned the the care of the Lord.

God bless

Thanks everyone, and you, Greg. I'm happy the service was beautiful. These customs and ceremonies are so important for the living. Your cousin and my Nana are not looking back, are they?

The preacher at my Nana's funeral said something that made us all crack up at the service, he said, "She might have been a Baptist, but she's dancing now!"

The grief is lifting, I hope it is for you as well.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
