Does this ever get better?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I was banded in Sept 07, and to date I've lost 30 lbs. Not as much as I'd hoped, but still I'm happy with it! I've gone through a divorce and the holidays in the same time frame and haven't gained weight so that is something to celebrate! My problem is that I puke a lot... a lot. Some days it's worse than others and I'm getting sick of it. My last solution is to just chew up my food and then spit it in a napkin before swallowing. Gross, but at least I get to taste it. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong or what will help??? Maybe it's the wrong food? Maybe I'm not chewing good enough? too fast?

Thanks for your reply to come,

GAyleepoo

I'm new to this, but based on other posts I've read on here, it sounds like you may be too tight. Have you had many fills? Maybe you need an un-fill.

Sorry to hear about the divorce, etc.

gayleepoo Hi going through same kind of issues, not sure what's going on.Unitl I totally got unfilled I couldn't even eat a salad like I used to and at night when I get up to go to the restromm I would grab a drink of Water

and water wasn't even going down. I see my DR again next week. A bit concerned I could not eat chicken salad

homemade with a bit of mayo. Something seems odd just don't know what . I'm thinking to ask him to just fill me like 1.5 or something. But he also made remark about my body rejecting the band (weird) I have ask about this on the band waiting to hear the replys.Let me know what happens with you. GOOD LUCK DEAR ! I think there is hope for us Sandra

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
