is it that some foods seem to go right through? I was adjusted yesterday for the second time after an unfill. this morning I had some scrambled eggs wich sat in the pouch like they should have. I was elated, as it's the first time the band has worked in months. then for dinner tonight I had a grilled chicken salad. I kept waiting for the full signal, wich never came. I ate the entire salad! so now I'm thinking something has happened to the band. so as a test I had a slice of bread. bad move. the band is definitely still working. it took several minutes of vomiting to get the bread out. so I don't understand why the salad went through so easily?

its because it's easier to chew up...lettace turns in to Water in your stomach which goes right through the band I have had the same problem...that's why I eat more of the chicken than the lettace.

I haven't personally tried eating bread yet, but I have heard some bandsters just cannot tolerate untoasted bread. It gets to a very 'gluey' consistency once it is chewed, and just won't go down. Crackers, toast, and any crunchy carb go down much easier for some, but bread can be troublesome.

I haven't had a fill yet, but was stunned that I got fried rice and a small chili from Wendy's in me yesterday. It took just over 2 hours, but never felt full like I have been with Soup. However, I wound up feeling it later, lol. Needless to say, I won't even try that much again.

I haven't had a fill yet, but if I eat my Proteins first, especially with salads, then I feel it longer... But, lettuce is a weakness for me. I LOVE IT w/ a cilantro lime vinaigrette or a homemade honey, olive oil and dijon mustard. My biggest issue right now is that I've had so much chicken, I could CLUCK!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
