NSV-new, smaller clothes!

Recommended Posts

:banana Does anyone else do this?

I go to the mall (2+ hour drive), go to Lane Bryant, go directly to my "old" preband size, look for 5 minutes, realize what I am doing, and go down a size or two to find what fits!

I don't know why I do it, but every store I went to yesterday--looked at all the 2X's first!

THEN, I went to JJill--they don't sell plus size in the store--so I thought I would wing it and try an 18---TOO BIG! Tried a 16 and it was way too tight to be comfy! So, will try there again next month. Not to mention the idiot sales lady came right up to me and my HUSBAND and said "can I help you ladies find something?" I said, "um, I am not sure who you are talking to, since this is my husband"--she must have said it to us without looking at us because my husband would make the world's most unattractive woman! Crazy!

So I had a couple of NSV"S yesterday--two sizes smaller at LB and fitting in to some generously cut "regular" clothes! Woohoo!

Kimberlilly I was jusy having the exact same conversation with my girlfriend. I go shopping and I find myself in the plus size department. I wasa 20-22 when I started this journey 10 months ago and Iam now 12-14. It is a hard habit to break..but I'm trying

YES! I used to go just to look at the "real" clothes and styles to see if I could duplicate the look in plus size--so, definately "just looking"

Even my husband, who would rather DIE than shop, was totally into finding stuff for me to try on.

Got a ROCKIN pair of bootcut jeans, and he said I look SMOKIN in them!

Gotta love that man!

Great NSV Kim! Yes, I do the same thing too. I fact I had some Jeans I bought before losing weight (I found them in my closet while throwing out the big stuff) and took them back to the store. I traded them for the next size down, so I would have a pair to wear when the ones I am wearing are too big. I put them on to see how long before I fit into them, and they already fit.

You DH sounds like a real sweety!

Congratulations, Kimber-lilly! Smaller clothes are the bomb. I've shrunken out of all my coats, so last night I went looking for sales to see what I could get. I tried on a great Lands End parka which I think was a women's XL (not a 1X, just a plain old XL) and though it looked small it fit perfectly!! Well, except for the too-short arms, which I'm well used to. That's part of the mental disconnect--not being able to judge by sight; this coat really looked small to me before I put it on.

After lots of shopping and trying things on, I ended up with two new coats, both from the men's department. But they're both a regular L! I almost went for an M but it wouldn't quite zip around my butt though it fit well everywhere else. DH said that next fall we'd come back for the M. :)

I think that was the first Medium ANYTHING I've worn since, well, ever. :D

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
