Putting a face to a name

Dang. You are all so pretty!!!

*afraid I'll be the only ugly February bandster*

gibson, no one here is ugly. We are all beautiful, both inside and out. The only difference is that we are working on making the outside a work of art. I've read many of your posts and you are a blessing to be around. Please don't let some snide remarks of others keep you from being that person. The truth is, some people are so intimidated and unable to accept that, they work on making other people hurt. It actually makes them feel better, and that is essentially their problem, definitely not yours.

I will post some pictures very shortly myself. I am going to wait until my 259 pound set, which I do every ten pounds to keep a record on my progress. I am VERY close... :wink2:

I'm not sure what happened to my pics. They were there last night after I posted. Guess I'll try again when I get home. I'm working late tonight.

Gibson, I can tell you are a beautiful person. You are not your body. That's just a shell you temporarily call your home.

Well, golly! I must have joined after this thread was started - because I don't remember seeing it. It's been so fun to see all of your beautiful faces and actually be able to picture who I'm talking to! This is a great idea!!

Ok, so I'll give it a shot...

Here's a lovely "before" picture of me taken this Christmas. I'm lounging in all my glory at my highest weight - somewhere in the 280's. I really like how I'm actually reading a COOKING magazine with holiday Desserts on the cover. Classy.

JNB, you cracked me up! I doubt I would have even noticed what you were reading until you pointed it out!! :(

I tell you what, we may have some pounds to lose but I hope none of you lose your AWESOME sense of humor!

I love this thread. I can't wait to upload pics but I'm at work. I came here late and didn't find this place until two days after my surgery, and not this particular support group until at least a week after that. I think. So I feel kind of left out, and like I have missed alot.

Ok - gonna try this one more time. This is me in October 2007. Not sure what I weighed then. Most likely 300+.

Like most over weight people I have few pictures of me. I hide when people bring out their cams. This picture below is all I have. Taken by daughter in Dec. 2007 right before I started pre op diet. Weight was 267....My highest ever.

I have no idea how to get these pictures from one place to another..so if this doesn't come through I'd gladly take any help from any of you that know computers better than myself (which is probably all of you)! LOL...:)

This was taken December 2007..I got banded on 2/08/08! Can't wait for some new pics!! All of you look great and I am so happy for all of us that we have the technology to help us!! My doctor is Dr. Timothy Eldridge in OKC. He is great!

Well, like most "overweight" people, I *hate* pictures of me. This picture is of me and my loving hubby, on his birthday. This is about a year before my lap-band surgery, not my heaviest but very close. I hate the double chin! Hubby says my face looks even better right now, after 24 pounds of weight loss. I can't wait to lose more!

Awww, thanks Queen of Hearts! Your picture is gorgeous too! Actually, I think all of us here are some fabulous looking people! I love the sharing of pictures.

Yeah, you're right Queen of Hearts! I'm hoping one day I'll actually like a picture of me, and not hide when the cameras come out - both of my hubby's sisters are photographers, not professional, but they've taken classes and ALWAYS have a fancy camera with them. Makes me shiver! lol. One day, hopefully, I won't though. We'll all get there! This is just the beginning!

*hugs*

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
