I have a new favorite exercise

Recommended Posts

Hey there everyone and Happy New Year. So...Santa brought my family a Wii for Christmas and I have to say "I love it". I was doing the boxing and the tennis the other day and I was sweating like I was doing aerobics. I was even sore from bowling. Has anyone else taken up the "Wii" for exercise?

Oh I am so jealous of you. I was planning on getting DH one so I could use it in the winter time for that very reason. I jsut never got around to actually finding one lol.

I wasn't planning on getting one. I had no interest in standing in long lines and spending the night outside of a store to get one either, I just happened to stumble upon it. I was very lucky. I went to Target one Tuesday after work to get "Meet the Robinsons" for the kids. Well...I happened to be walking down the Wii aisle and there were two sitting there. I couldn't believe it. It really was a great find. I wasn't sure if my kids would want to play it and if they would really get it (they are 7 and 4), but let me tell you...they love it just as much as I do. Good luck locating one...it should be a little easier now that the holidays are over.

I'm with you! I love it. DH and I got one for each other for Christmas and I was surprised how much of a workout it has been. A friend who had a stroke last year has used the Wii in her physical therapy.

(and did you know you can play strip bowling...)

Okay, I must be totally out of the loop. What in the world is a Wii. All I know is that is what my 3 year old says when he needs to go to the restroom.

Love it! Haven't used it since banding...but used it before. My son is four and he loves it! We have such a good time with the Wii. Bought it last year for my fiance for Father's Day...so we have had it for a while...but it just doesn't lose it's touch...it's great! Wait till you see the foot pad they are coming out with next fall...you can do yoga and soccer...can't wait!

I have heard about the pad and the yoga. I can't wait. My 4 year old is a pro at bowling. He's so cute when he does it. I get a real workout with the tennis and the bowing. I give it all I have. I didn't know I was going to have so much fun with it. It's definately a great investment. It's bonding time with the family and exercise time for mommy.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
