Recommended Posts

Bert just wondering how your Dr appt went. Did he fill you? I go see my Dr on Jan 28th and it is a 4.5 hour drive for me just to see him. I am concerned that maybe he won't fill me because it has not been 6 weeks and I don't want to have to drive back if I don't have to. I was just wondering since we had surgery on the same day if he did go ahead and fill you. Let us know!!

Did you say you are bitchy and crabby right now? We didn't notice!!!:)

We have all gone through it--someone said the other day that her COUCH started looking good enough to eat--desperation was our middle name during that time (the first four weeks)!!

Honestly, my doctor gives fills every six weeks--no sooner--and so I've had two and am not totally restricted--so I have to warn you, much of this first amount of time is you working with the band. You may have to limit the amount of food you are taking in yourself--you measure it out for yourself and when it's gone, it's gone, m'dear.

Tell your doctor about your hunger--I would think that by Friday (two weeks post-op) you may be able to start having some mushies (yogurt, cottage cheese, refried beans) but again, that's going to be his call.

Hang tight, it's going to be over before you know it!!! :hungry:

Bert, I am with you sister. Hang in there. I go back to the Dr. tomorrow one week post op. Hell, I am hungry too sometimes. A real meal can't come soon enough. Even good mushies can't.

Thirteen pounds in about one week and your going crazy? Hey let me get on that bandwagon with you.

How about seven weeks post surgery, weight loss 18 pounds, scale won't budge now? 2 fills, no restriction.

Third fill coming but I don't have much confidence in that one either. I think it's going to take number 4 or 5 before I get anywhere. What's that like another month or six weeks?

Talk about crabby. It is 5:10 pm and I've had 260 caloreis so far. One Isopure CLEAR and one large glass V-8 low sodium. This is to be sure I don;t gain any back!

I'm sure I will pretty much inhale dinner... oh wow, I hope I don't get too full on those giant lean cuisine meals! HA!

My willpower is shot and I never had much to begin with OR I wouldn't be FAT!

Ok, that felt good. Thanks!

Ha! Just got thru with the same venting as my last post and then my husband tells me it's only been five weeks and not seven weeks since surgery...... Really? I guess it just feels like seven. LMAO

Girl, I am exactly where you are right now and feeling entirely the same!! I got banded 5 days ago, and yes, I tend to be an impatient person at times however, I have barely lost two pounds and have been on liquids all of this time. A friend of mine did say this however......

Our body may be in that starvation mode, as it is halting the brakes because it simply isn't used to so few calories. Also, she said to allow for post of swelling and the IV fluids hanging around. I am serious, I have Budda belly!! Seriously, we can't be the only two people in the world this doesn't work for!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
