Had my surgery on Dec 31st and I returned to work this morning. I work in an office and sit at my desk most of the day. I am feeling tired and weak. I will make it through the day. I think I will take a nap for lunch. I keep getting hot and cold. I am starting to feel hungry, but can only have 1/4 cup of cream Soups, yogart, Protein Drinks. I can't wait until the mushy stage next week. Is it Friday yet? :faint:

Just wanted to say good luck. This was the day for me that I got really down. I wanted to eat something, anything. I was tired, but not tired enough to stay home and feel bad, but tired. It does all get better. I had my surgery on the 20th. Keep your head up. :)

today is my first day back too - my surgery was the 29th. Good luck to us :) In the old days, we'd still be recuperating from surgery.

I'm still on liquids though so I'm envious of your creamy soups! I get those tomorrow :)

I've been getting panic attacks the last couple of days which have thrown me a great deal, plus I have a varicose vein in my leg which is just painful as can be (blood clots have been ruled out). If I could get over those two hurdles, I'd really be thrilled with tired and weak.

Hope you have a good day today.

Went back to work today, and due to complications, was on Clear Liquids until Saturday. But even now, I can't get the Protein shakes down. So at work, had tea, a carnation instant Breakfast and broth.

Tonite, had 8oz mushroom consomme and lemon sugar free ice.

Its a lot slower getting back than I thought I would be. I am still in some pain. Have stitches right under my breasts, and actually took off the bra before I left work because the bra was pushing on it.

Ladies, I returned back to work today, and was very surprise by the overall achiness I felt. and I was tired by noon. I also have a desk job, but was up and down all morning. I think that was the problem, using the stomach muscles. when I got home this evening, I had my cream of chicken Soup and slept for 3 hours! lol

we will survive

Justin,

Hang in there! I could have gnawed off a toe the first week, but it gets better! Believe, soon enough you'll hate mushie food too!

It will get better every day!

Justin, I know we all feel the same way and wish we could all meet at a buffet! ha But we can't, so hang tough and drink something yummy and warm. Try a cup of sf hot chocolate.

Best of luck.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
