First Fill

Recommended Posts

Wow, I was scared! Almost as much as before surgery.....but it wasn't bad at all. Just creepy. :huytsao

I had only .4 cc in my band, and she added 2 cc. Then I waited there and drank Water, but it went down really slowly! She said to come back the next day if it was still really tight, but it is better now and I am eating mushies again. It sure made a difference in stopping the foraging for food that I was starting to do! Feels like the first 2 weeks, and that is what my doc said to look for. :)

I will have my first fill this Friday. This has been life changing already!! I am down 32 pounds in about 6 weeks. I realize I can't keep losing at this same pace forever, but I would love to reach my goal within 1 year!!!! The plateau will come. I lost 70 lbs on Phen-Fen in 3 months. So I look at this as a similar restriction. Then I had to force myself to eat, now I just eat less. I hope everyone else is having similar success. Sorry ladies, I know that we men do lose more quickly. Don't get down! Have a great day!!!!!

Chris,

Hope you get your fill on 17th, already I feel less hungry (thank goodness). Also was told that I'm not actually eating enough so have increased my lunch to 2 cruskits instead of 1.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
