Still STUCK!

Okay, now it is July 6th and I am far from my goal of 250. So now what??

This past week, I have been walking about 2 miles every night before I go to bed. At first it looked like I might finally break 280#, but this morning I gained again. I continue to hover around 285#. Sometimes a little more and sometimes a little less.

Well, I'm not giving up. I'll continue to work on this.

Sorry to hear you're on a plateau! But good for you for not giving up!!!!! That's such a great attitude to have. If I had only lost 15lbs in 5 months (doing a little math based on your stats) I would have lost hope ages ago so kudos to you!!

When is the last time you had a fill? How's your restriction? Are you tracking your calories? Maybe you need to step up the exercise. You're doing cardio and walking 2 miles, which is great! Maybe you need to add weight training to build muscle, which will burn more fat.

Keep up the great attitude and motivation!

You will get there, I am sure :0). My last couple of months have been a continuous cycle of plateau, lose, plateau, lose . . . . . and on and on and on. It is not even a surprise anymore.

You are doing awesome being 60 pounds down. I can't keep up with you :0)

I appreciate the encouragement. Maybe by the end of July I can get below 280.

<<Break on through to the other side.>>

Hey Big-D,

I saw on another post where someone said that they vary thier routine a lot when stuck on a plateau. Eat a lot one day, a little the next, lots of cardio, no cardio etc.

I saw where another has a Plateau Busting Diet, but I haven't seen it yet.

I always get a little kickstart when I get a fill and have to do the 48 hours of liquid.

Good luck to you, I know you'll do it!!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
