The Daniel Fast for lapbanders

Recommended Posts

My church is embarking upon a 21 day fast called "The Daniel Fast". It's mainly fruits and veggies.

If you are familiar with it, please share suggestions for meals and products that I should purchase. I'm mainly concerned with getting enough Protein.< /p>

I NEVER plain drink water--It's always Chrystal Light. I don't think that we can't have sugar or sugar substitute--so PLAIN Water might be the death of me!!!!!

All suggestions are welcomed

I've spolied myself I nly drink crystal light too. Maybe try a flavored water that has just a hint of fruit flavor.

100% fruit juices have a lot of calories and sugar in them. Yes, it's natural sugar ( for most of them) but still sugar.

some add corn Syrup, so read the labels.

Check out the "light" fruit juices, they are lower in calories.

You'll get Protein from any meat but you could add Isopure CLEAR Protein Drink. It comes in different flavors and has no sugars or carbs. You can buy them at a GNC (General nutrition store) or a Vitamin Shoppe.

I like the Special K Protein Water, they're flavored and I like the Propel flavored waters.

I think I may have found a way to not die of lack of crystal light. There is a product called Stevia. It's sold in liquid and powder form--have you heard of it?

If you just need some flavor in your Water than put a little bit of 100% fruit juice in it to give yourself a hint of flavor.

From what I have heard Stevia is a good product to use. It made from a herb so it is natural. It supposedly has a sweet licoricey flavor. I actually plan on buying some this weekend since I have recently gotten myself off of the sugar. Honestly though you really should give up the crystal light for good because aspartame is a really crappy chemical to put in your body.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
