Anybody got a Garmin?

I got a Garmin Nuvi 200 for Christmas, and I LOVE IT! Anyone else have one?

T-Girl I have one and they are fantastic!1 I handle toy breed dogs so I run from show site to show site . Many times the shows are held in remote areas that are very difficult to find. I have not been lost when traveling with my Garmin before life with G I had the navagation service via my cell phone that was better than nothing but many times it would freeze and when it kicked back in I would be off direction. Plus I had to worry the area I was heading to was not in the hills where the tower signals were spotty. Bottom line you will love it they are well worth the money and there are no monthly fee's, like Onstar and some of the others.

It was the best thing I ever bought. I get lost in my bathroom and I've never gotten a grasp on the whole North South thing. My garmin saves me gas and headaches.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. Now, I can go places and not worry about whether those stupid online maps are going to get me lost. I HATE that. Print a map, and it's clear as mud. Garmin won't even let you get lost. LOVE IT!

I love ours also. Had it for a while now and I even take it wit me when I travel by plane. Rental car places have them now.

We have a Garmin that we have had for about 4 months we have it in the car. Then my parents bought us a smaller Tom Tom for our motorcycle for our trips this summer.

So far, it seems to operate almost identically!

I LOVE it!!! We decide where we want to go, and can find out what motels and places are along our route---it is perfect for the way we like to travel!

I've used a Garmin 2820 for two years, and we don't go anywhere without it. I use it when we go to an address in San Antonio. Very rarely does it make a mistake, and there is a good reason when it does. We took a month long trip to the east coast during October 2006. There many stops and side trips during that time and it never failed to take us were we wanted to go. It saved us a number of times when gas got low or the motel we chose was full or did not meet our expectations. The only problem was when we around tall buildings in some of the larger city's.

My LOML has named mine, she calls it the B****H in the box.

Kat I know what you mean. I'm a diabetic and sometimes when my blood sugar dips and changes to fast I forget where I am or where I was going.

Before the "street biotch" <--- that's it's name I would have to pull over and cry for a while and then call someone and ask them how to get back on the correct road.:help: I would freak out. :faint: Now I just freak out a little and push the home button. LOL I don't have the episodes often but when I do I love having it in the car. I moved from Florida to Portland Oregon. In the city I don't have to drive very much but then we left the city to live at the bottom of Mt. Hood. So with the Mt roads and snow and me not being very good in snow it brings me great comfort to know I can get around such weather conditions or get to a friends house and wait for Bruce to come get me. LOL

Hi!

Saw the word Garmin and had to take a peek at the thread. I have been navigating with GPS units for nearly 4 years now. I bought a big old car unit a few years back, which is sadly out of date now. I need a new one, and have been looking at the Nuvi. Love to hear positives about it.

I do use a Garmin GPS for car navigation -- a GPS MAP 60CS. It's a handheld unit, but does auto-routing. It doesn't talk, but beeps when I need to make my turns. I love it.

And, while I'm here, GPS units (not really the car units, but the handhelds) are GREAT for geocaching!! It's a fun way to get outside for a walk, get some exercise and find "treasure". Just google GEOCACHING if interested, or drop me a line. It's totally fun!

I have a TOMTOM and love it. The Grandchildren are fasinated watching us move down the "roads" and we take it along even if we know where we are going, just so they are entertained. They have a DVD player and game boys but get tired of those and want to watch "Tommy".

Glad to hear that about the TOM TOM--- we received it as a gift for Christmas, we are going to use in on our motorcycle, as we do a lot of touring with it...and since it is a bike, the gas tank is smaller, so we have to watch our routes, make sure we can do it! We pull a trailer sometimes and camp, so that aspect, of finding a spot, that is tent accesible is great too. I know our Garmin has been great. This one seemed to be very very similar, glad to hear good things about it too. Look out summer here we come!! Time to hit the road!!

I got my son in law a TomTom for Christmas. I don't know what the difference is. I don't know why he wanted that rather than the Garmin.

My son has the Garmin. We go to visit my dad in Arizona all the time and it was really handy to get us around finding places.

Once it took us on a wild goose chase. My future daughter in law wanted to try on wedding dresses. We live in a really small town

here in Oregon, so she was really excited to go to a real city.

The Garmin kept telling us weird things like to make a U turn, go through a parking lot, drive 4 blocks, make another U turn. It was crazy. For the most part though, it was a giant help compared to all the other times we go to Phoenix and get lost.

We got a Garmin Nuvi 350 for Christmas. I had thought they were an unnecessary luxury, but I am in LOVE with the thing and haven't even used it that much, yet. I've only used it to direct me somewhere once so far, but I love watching it work and show me driving down the road. LOL I guess I'm entertained by it, too. I look forward to many years of good use to it! It's fun to use.

I have one and I really love it, I have a hard time finding my way out of the driveway so it has become a necessity,lol
