Hi Munchkin,

Thanks for asking. I started the day with liquids and by 1pm I was able to eat a few appetizers. dinner was later in the day. I was able to eat 2 bites of prime rib and one big ravioli slowly. I didn't PB all day yesterday so I am much happier today. Why is it that the band is so fickle sometimes. Just a week and a half ago I was able to enjoy an entire chicken salad at Chilis. It probably had a minimum of 4 oz of Protein on it. I consumed all the chicken and probably 3/4 cup of the salad. Go figure.

Same thing has been happening to me for the past couple of days; actually I started noticing increased difficulty with food going down on Friday. Good to know that I am not the only one experiencing this. I have not had a fill since 10/8/07. I thought that perhaps it is holiday stress but I haven't really felt any more stressed than in the past although I didn't have my band last Christmas. I was disappointed that my boyfriend decided to go to NY for the holiday (to take the mom to visit the sister) but that is his family so while disappointed that I didn't get to see him, I understand so not really stressed over that. My family is good so I don't really consider myself to have been stressed with any family issues. It is very strange why the extra restriction (for lack of a better way to put it) started. I'm kinda glad it happened though because I had made plans to eat what I wanted over the holiday which included a lot of sweets. I have been very frustrated with this plateau lately and just decided that i was going to eat what I wanted. But that did not really happen due to being too tight & my lovely band putting the brakes on that thought.

I am like Desnise, if I end up with a PB episode, I have to go to liquids, and avoid food for a day or so, or I irritate everything, swell up, and just invite the next PB to happen!

Stress comes from so many places, and as bandsters we have extra stresses, concerning our food. We see all the goodies out there, and know we shouldn't, then deal with the occasional guilt if we have them anyway! We are invited to gatherings, without knowing what the menu is going to be or whether any of it is band friendly--and if you are new to bandland, the diet is restrictive for awhile as you heal--so those problems are increased.

We stress over what to get for everyone, and whether we will get it wrapped, and whether we are over budget...and a million other things related to this time of year, that each on their own may not be enough stress to cause the related swelling, but when you add them all together, sometimes it gets to people, and their bands.

Hope your PB Spree is over!!!

Kat

Is there such a thing as "average weight loss? I was banded 2 weeks ago and seem to be staying the same. I did lose 11lbs first week but then seems like nothing?

I think I'm developing some bad habits. Mid-November my band seemed to be working just fine. Now I think I've developed the snacking habit. Violating one of the rules I know. I'm fearful that I will sink into my old habits and regain my weight. Here is where I must "choose" to the right thing and where my band can't help me. If I only follow the rules I'm fine. Why can't I follow the rules right now?

I read about how everyone has good restriction - maybe I need to get my next fill sooner, rather than later. Thoughts?

:help:I have plateaued for the last 2 months. I know that I have been through a lot what with getting strep and (having the most boring job in the world), family stress, and the holidays. I feel like I am eating constantly! I have found myself compulsively eating and it is NOT the best choices. I have also started vomiting or pb's (clear foamy crud)

HOW do you find your motivation Upon loosing it?

:help:

Christmas Eve was hard for me, every single thing I ate the whole entire day came back up.

But Christmas Day, oh boy was I able to eat. Boy did I make up for not eating Christmas Eve!!

Just an update. I went in for an unfill today to 2.5 from 3.0. The decision was based on me not being able to handle too many solids. I feel better as I was able to consume approx. 2-3oz of chicken at lunch. We'll see how I do. Julie

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
