How did you all go with your Protein target after surgery? Im trying to get as much as possible, 100g but ideally 145g.

I gotta say. It's hard!

Had my sleeve surgery yesterday

The recovery is rough… a lot of pain, really painful bloated feeling, just slept on and off for 24 hours

morning after I feel much better, can walk around but really struggling to take any liquid, it’s very painful / uncomfortable to drink - was everyone else similar?

So I was 6 days out from VSG surgery when I tested positive for COVID-19.

I mostly feel fine, apart from my throat. It's really prickly and sore. To the point that I am really struggling to get anything down. It has gotten worse over the past 12 hours, to the point that I'm wondering whether the remedies I have used (Saltwater gargle, sugarfree difflam) have done more harm than good.

My weight loss clinic doesn't open till Monday. I am really struggling here! 😫

Good to hear. I am 11 days post op and feeling pretty darn good as well. It was rougher than I thought it would be…I also had a hiatal hernia repaired at the same time. It’s amazing how our bodies heal!

Off and running 🏃‍♀️

Wow well done guys, sounds amazing progress

I had my surgery 6 days ago… I’m sipping around a litre of Protein Water and tried to have a bit of really thin Soup with some added Protein Powder but I’m really struggling with the pain as the food / water makes its way down - really hindering me reaching the intakes I should be.

Still, I just keep telling myself it is what it is, I keep trying and I’m sure my body will heal enough to get what I need soon.

Its May 6th. So I'm 17 days out.

I'm on the pureed foods. It's ok. Srammbled eggs is a nice treat. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm over chocolate flavoured shakes!

I'm halfway to my goal weight already. Sounds scary! I'm not actually that worried about the scale: I want to see abs!

COVIC is just a distant memory. It's hard to hit the Protein target but I'm getting close. I hate pureed food. Thick lentil Soup is a go-to food.

Hi S1n,

I start pureed on Wednesday, since the beginning I’ve not been looking forward to that stage… now after nearly a month of only liquid I can’t wait to puree something! 😂

halfway through your target already is huge, wow - well done… I don’t really have a target which is probably a bit strange, I guess I have a rough amount that I’d be happy to weigh and I’m probably around half way there too… amazing the difference a month can make!

have you done much exercise yet? I’ve only really done some pretty easy walking, bending / stretching I do get shooting pains if now careful so am reluctant to do anything more strenuous yet.

back to work tomorrow and I commute to work in a different country to where I live so not really looking forward to that!

I am hesitant to say that I have a weight target, because I really want more than that. I want to be able to run and move and wear the clothes I want to wear. I want to have a low resting heart rate. I want to be able to play sports with my son. There's so much more than a number on a scale.

I have probably spent 15,000 hours at the gym. I have a lot of skeletal muscle, but it's not really visible. I always felt too humble to want big muscles, but why? I've done the work. Why shouldn't I enjoy and take pride in it?

I have been walking. Not a lot, between 6 and 10 thousand steps a day. I have some chronic shoulder injuries, but I can't wait to get back to lifting. I love lifting weights. I am thinking another two weeks off. In the meantime, I want to get back to stationary bike and a lot of stretching!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
