Drinking after soup

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this is a stupid question, but do you guys usually wait to drink after eating cream Soup or broth? I'm 11 days post op and like 2-3 days ago I ate/drank broth a bit too quickly and I felt nauseated. I've had a very good experience very little neausea and have been hitting my Water and Protein goals. TIA

broth no, I did not wait. Soups I did. They are a little thicker and part of the reason to wait is to allow it to absorb the nutrients from it.

if it's all liquid, then no. If the Soup has chunks of things in it (like meat and/or vegetables), then I eat the liquid part first, then the solids. And after that, I wait 30 minutes before drinking anything.

Not after broth but definitely after Soup since the vegetables and/or meat (even blended) etc. sit in my stomach. I always wait 30 minutes (at the very least). I don't know if others experience this but the moment I drink anything, I will get hungry again sooner. The longer I wait to drink, the longer the satiety lasts.

The reason for waiting is to allow your body of absorb the nutrients from the foods you ate. You want the nutrients from broth too, I would wait if it was me. Either way it wouldn't hurt to wait to be "safe".

Of course, you could always ask your team and do what they say. The know best.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
