Multivitamins

They are all disgusting. I was cleared to take capsules and haven't had any issues with them.

I use the Bariatric Advantage multi chewy bites...they're sort of like a starburst texture, and they're the only ones that don't make me puke. One caveat with these is that they do not contain Iron, Calcium or magnesium, but they make calcium chews in the same chewy texture so I take both. For iron, I use BariMelts Iron + Vitamin C which dissolve in your mouth...they don't taste fantastic but they are easy on my stomach. I've always had problems being able to take iron supplements and these are the only ones that don't give me trouble.

If you get them, I recommend the strawberry Watermelon multi and the lemon calcium...the coconut calcium chews arent nearly as good.

I’m a military veteran and the VA just sent me the Bariatric Pal MultiVit ONE like in the photo. Amen! I hate the other chewables! I’m 5 weeks post gastric bypass. Good luck!

How did you get the VA to send you Multivitamins?
Did they just automatically do it or did you have to ask your doctor?
I also got my surgery through the VA but I am having trouble even getting reimbursed for the meds I had to get for the surgery

Sent from my SM-S908U using BariatricPal mobile app

I take Barimelts Multivitamin plus Iron. They aren't horrible, kind of like chewing a tums with a berry flavor.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
