Yea I don’t have any issues with constipation or anything else you mentioned. I’m pretty sure 45mg is where my clinic starts most people though. It’s in a book that they gave me in the very beginning that unless told otherwise we needed 45mg.

Just goes to show you how everyone is different lol I do well on 18mg normally and only needed the boost the first month after surgery. If I were to do 45mg now, I would have horrible Constipation and nausea.

Hummmm. This sorta makes you wonder why they recommend 45mg for someone with no issues with Iron to begin with. I bet the excess is like so many Vitamins that we just pee it away. That would make it easier for them to just go with the higher dose for everyone.

Many programs lump everyone together with a one size fits all supplement regimen, irrespective what procedure they had, and then sort it out later with post op labs. That's why some, like the OP has a fairly scant regimen (which fits the VSG fairly well) while others with the VSG are put on an RNY regimen that is overkill for them. It's mostly a convenience for the practice that everyone be told the same thing pre-op, and maybe they don't have to do as much pre-op screening to see what each individual needs.

I use Bariatric Fusion because it’s only $27 a month at my doctors office, has everything I need, and I don’t have to try to find something different at Walmart since they only sell gummies and I can’t have gummies. As soon as I am able I’m switching to a pill form, not sure why I couldn’t take a pill now, I can swallow one fine as long as it’s one at a time. Only bad thing is that it’s 4x daily, so I have an alarm set in Baritastic.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
