Problems with BURPING??????

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I am currently 10 days post op and am having a lot of issues with burping... ALL DAY LONG. And the burps smell. I am back at work and it is very embarrassing. Any one else have this problem? I am drinking small sips, eating slow, but even when I am not eating or drinking I am belching.

I have problems with burping from time to time, usually when I eat too quickly. It is a fact of life sometimes....

Reach out to your team, So early in your recovery you will have lots of strange things happening. I burp occasionally, continuous burping is not normal and it must be awful for you. There will be some medication you can take. I live in England so I cant recommend any. I hope you get some help

I second contacting your team. That’s not a typical thing I don’t think. Maybe you still aren’t eating as slow as your body requires this early out but if that’s not it then your doctor needs to know.

Could be something you’re eating too like the lactose in your shakes/protein powder. (If you’re not digesting lactose well post surgery - not uncommon.) But definitely contact your medical team.

I used to burp occasionally in the beginning, but not excessively.

Re: smell, are you sure it is the burps, or is it Keto breath (or a combo of the two)? I was seriously stinky for the first couple of months. It got better as my diet normalized.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
